I've been playing the original Pokemon Green lately and it's made me think about the Pokemon world when there was only 151 Pokemon, and about what kind of trainer stories you could tell sticking to just the first generation...
So we have a ceramicist, whose Magmar ("Raku") helps with firing and whose Grimer ("Slip") concocts the wildest glazes; A boulderer with a Graveler for practice, a Tangela for spotting, and a Chansey for a nice egg when they reach the summit; and a jeweller whose work is inspired by the bewejelled Pokemon she's been raising since she was a child.

I feel bad for the Elite Four in the Broken AU variant of WTST (initial post here).
First they get to deal with this weird guy with knives for sideburns and who anyone can see from a mile away is Not Okay.
They lose.
Weird Guy becomes Champion. Is basically a ghost around the League, and nobody can corner him and get him to open up and accept help in any way.
Deal with this weird guy for two years.
Walk in one morning, the Champion is giving off major Piano String Tightened Too Much vibes and refuses to elaborate, insists that he's fine, goes off to do whatever it is he does in his room that requires so much paper.
Couple months go by. It's never resolved. Kind of becomes the new norm.
New challenger!
It's another funky bean pole with knife sideburns!
Cue immediate flashbacks to the day that the Champion treated them all to the Pokemon battle equivalent of a murder.
Become really anxious.
Oh and this one is smiling.
It is all teeth and no mirth.
Anyway, they lose. Again.
They later learn that that was Emmet, Champion Ingo's twin brother, who -- according to Elesa -- disappeared three years ago, wrangled Palkia and Dialga into Pokeballs in ancient Sinnoh, gave Cynthia's ancestor the beatdown of his life, stuffed Giratina into a ball, then went and pelted Arceus with Snickers Balms (you're not you when you're hungry) before stuffing IT into a ball and demanding that it send him home.
He's a little blunt, but he's a very nice person to know, really!
He isn't sorry for siccing his freaking massive Garchomp on your team with no qualms about whatever destruction may follow, though. He was in a bit of a mood. Trying to get to his brother. Family matters, you know how it is.
Yeah.
Anyway Ingo was concerning because he was on a downward spiral, Emmet is concerning because apparently he's yelled -- mutely, somehow, maybe aggressively signed or something -- at Legendaries and had his demands met by them and that is simply not a normal thing that happens to people.
But it's okay now, he has no interest in being Champion, Ingo's been hauled away to therapy and isn't coming back for the title, Alder can return, if he wants, Ingo and Emmet just want to work with trains and relax now.
A couple of years go by.
Guess who's starting a Battle Facility based around Unova's subway system?
#subway boss emmet#subway boss ingo#submas#broken au#wtst#eggin's writings#egginfroggintalkin#I might be playing up their terrifying prowess in battle a bit#but yeah I think that the twins are menaces#ingo was bad enough and then emmet comes in and is like#garchomp. kill. *chucks out 10-foot garchomp*#and his weird typhlosion what even is that typhlosion where did he get it#what do you MEAN he's a time traveler#can we stop the ride that is this conversation I would like to get off now#anyway yeah unova elite four has dealt with some. interesting people

Hello, professor! If I may, what was your first encounter with a legendary pokemon like? I dont know how often you've been to Sinnoh, but we don't tend to really believe in legendary pokemon out here unless you live somewhere rural like Solaceon Town (a personal favorite break room game for my office in Jubilife City is a blurry picture of a Fire-Type Pokemon called "Moltres or Rapidash?" that we all take votes on every month. Its just sort of the vibe here). But recently when I was travelling for work, I spotted emergency news coverage of the Eternatus Incident in the Galar region. There it was, clear as day on screen! I've never seen anything like it in my life, and even just that video footage left me pretty shaken (and humbled. I've been thinking of going to the church in Hearthome on my day off and saying a prayer there...just in case).
I remembered you mentioning that you sometimes recieve the odd legendary on Dotaku Island, and I guess I was just wondering what it's like to have one in front of you? How does it feel?
I have not once received a legendary to care for on the island, I don't know where you read that. I may have worded a post badly perhaps, which is entirely my bad. I do not in any way want to, or care for legendaries. They're too much for people to handle, and don't belong on this island, this isn't their home, and they have important jobs elsewhere.
I have briefly field studied Shaymin from afar (not handled, not interacted, just observed for notes), they're pretty docile, one of the calmer ones or so i'm told. they exude no immense pressure or power, and other than being incredibly skittish to sounds, act as any normal pokemon would. The only other interaction i've had is one singular run in with one Raikou very briefly in my ranger days, that on occasion I think returns to the island to look around, before disappearing for another year or so. Back when we crossed paths I can safely say that thing was MAD. I was chasing poachers, they joined in, we both just took off after them in a blind rage. The electricity that thing put out made it hard to breathe, maybe it was the voltage, maybe it was the pokemons intensity, it fried electrical devices, rattled the earth with every step, and made my whole team VERY uneasy, something thats quite difficult to do, even back then. I have never felt such fear, coupled with intense motivation in all my life since. Makes your chest tight, like you could die right there, but also, it's on your side? Its not going to come after you??? You hope! It vanished, I was left to clean up the mess, and now we see it on very rare occasion once or twice in a year, at great distance, usually observing the pokemon around the area, or our staff at work. Pretty sure it hops along the waves, saw it head out once, and it did jump across the water back towards the mainland.
This job breaks your sense of wonder at times. I look at the legends as any other pokemon, they're really cool, but if presented with one to care for, you do your job, get the pokemon well again, and release it promptly. I love that folks study and track these myths to learn and bask in their wonder, hypothesise on their natures their habits, LOVE IT, but me personally-I have little to no interest in any of them, and would do just about anything to avoid working with them. There are no medical books, no references for their care, how do you heal something no ones got a good look at before? Where are their organs? What tolerance do they have to modern medicines? Risk is too high for me personally. Luckily they are mega rare, and I never have to handle that haha.
No doubt a disappointing answer, but it's the honest truth. Hopefully you spot that Moltres for real one day, it's said that if you lay eyes on one in real life, you're filled with a burning energy for weeks after.

My headcanons For Gojo Satoru
This Dingus right here is a huge movie fan. Loves pretty much anything, the old classics black and white movies, foreign films, main stream movies and so bad that it’s good movies. He loves TV shows, he’s big Supernatural fanboy. Loves Dean Winchester and strong shipper of Deancel, Walking Dead fan all the way. Both the comics, Tv show and games. (He only played the first season and balled his eyes out for a weeks, and refuses to play rest of the games) Dose have a soft spot of horror movies, Like The Screams, Halloween, The Saw franchise, classic monster movies of course. Gotta respect the classics.
His favorite movies of all time are Beetlejuice (Satoru’s roll model) Corpse Bride, Frankenweenie, Edward scissors hand The Princess Bride , all the old George Romero zombie movies, again classic monster movies, The Lord Of The Rings and Hobbit franchise. He’s a big Bruce Campbell fan, and loves, loves all the Evil Dead movies and show. Loves Deadpool and has a huge man crush Ran Reynolds. Loves all Marvel Movies. Big Spider Man fanboy.
His favorite Disney movies are Princess and the frog, disney’s Atlantis, Tangrled, 101 Dalmatians, Emperors new groove, Hercules, Toy Story, but he can’t watch the 3rd because he will cry for ours.
He wasn’t a sorcerer, he would have loved to be an actor or film Director.
Dose play videos games, Pretty much played all the telltale games, Loves Red Dead redemption games The second one is his favorite, and loves Arthur Morgan. He’s only played Season 1 of the Walking Dead and still not over Lee’s death. Loves Stardew Valley, Pokemon and Animal Crossing.
Our boy loves his sweets, but hates eating his veggies. Trying to get this grown ass man to eat veggies is like a small fish trying fight a great white shark. It’s fight everyone is going to lose.
His favorite Tv shows’s are the Walking Dead, Game of Throwns, The Office both American and British, Big Big Doctor Who fan, loves the 10th Doctor (David Tennen is his boy) Watched Pokémon Anime that has come out the years, knows the lore like that back of his hand.
This man loves to crossdress, love to wear fancy ballgown dress, sundress and skirts. He can walk around in high heels with easy. He owns a lot high heels shoes.
Drinks a lot of coffee, 5-8 cups a day. Cannot stand the bitterness plane coffee. He adds 12 spoonful of sugar and milk to each cup. Hell is coffee isn’t really coffee pure sugar and milk or as Nanami dubs a cup of diabetes and tooth decay.
This man has the maturity of a 6 year old. He still think fart jokes are hilarious, it you say the word ‘booger’ this man child will start laughing uncontrollably, and he makes a lot dick jokes whenever he can and innuendos. He will even go into random empty classrooms and draw a lot of stupid doodles of random shit, like you would see in kids notebook if they were bored in class, and he draws lot of that penises. For some reason he draw dicks all over the chock bored. He’s been doing this since meddle and high school, he still thinks it funny. No body else dose. ... possibly Yuji.
He will out no where will start singing show toons. He just dose. Weather he’s in a meeting, doing a mission, teaching a class or singing in the shower, he will hum or sing out right of no where. Disney songs he knows by heart, themes of anime he’s into or watching. It helps him to relax... Or annoyed the shit of the others.
He dose not care spots but he dose enjoy baseball.
Gojo Satour’s ideal s/o
This man is a huge tease and jokester. He need someone who can match or almost his Energy. Humor is a very important thing to him, help deal with some shit that he had to go through. Someone with a good sence of humor is one attraction to him.
He’s a patien guy, and understands that it some people take getting out their shells, and he’s very excepting, but as long as you don’t try to kill or hurt is students things should be fine.
He is very overprotective lover. His s/o could very powerful sorcerer, capable of handling themselves in battle with curses or evil sorcerers, still doesn’t change that this man will worry and will step in if things will get hairy for liking. But al the same time of s/o a very strong sorcerer and knows how to care of themselves in n a battle it dose put Satoru’a mind at ease in away, still hate the idea of being away from his lover is something to them or they get hurt. If his s/o got badly injured or his s/o was about the brink of dying. HELL. HAVE. NO. FURY. TO. THIS. MAN’S. ANGER. He kill without think twice. No mercy, no secret changes, just death. He’ll rushed over to help his S/o and take them to Dr. Shoko, and will not leave until they are taken care and healed.
He’s his overprotective of his s/o and students so don’t fuck with any of them and no has to die. This man kill with thinking twice about it.
This man is loaded. As cash, and would give Yuji, Megumi and Nobara some money to enjoy themselves with. But this man dose love to spoil his s/o when he could. Somethings he will go overboard and his s/o tells him but it’s not necessarily to spend all this money on them. Which makes him love them even more because they not love him for his money. However Gojo being, well, Gojo will randomly get bouquets of flowers for his lovely s/o I will bring it to them randomly. It doesn’t matter if they’re teaching a class or and a very important meeting with Yaga-San, he’ll ust pop out of nowhere with a big goofy grin on his face and give his s/o the flowers kiss them and disappears, there is an awkward and annoying silence from from the students or the principal. And his s/o mildly embarrassed, but flattered shall go on as if nothing happened. And it becomes has become a running joke around in the school.
Hugs, Kissses and Cuddles are a must. Again Satour doesn’t give a shit there is a meeting or A class being taught when this man wants affection, he’s going to get affection. He’ll come from behind and rest his head on his s/o’s chin on his s/o’s head. (Because the guy’s freakishly tall) And will just annoyin the shit out of then until he gets what he wants. Then he will leave them alone, maybe not. He’s Hot mess of chaotic energy after all. Plus he thinks it’s adorable When they get a little annoyed with him.
Being Married To Gojo Satoru or just have a domestic life with him
This man never really saw himself getting married. It’s something that he was rather against for a while, until he meets his s/o. Nothings really changed in their relationship after they got married, did a few years and they just try to not have nowhere Most of everyone at the school cannot believe that someone would actually marry this maniac. Either his s/o is as as patient as a saint, just as bad shit crazy as Gojo Satour himself.
He dose everything in his power too make this work, and so dose his s/o. The two of them being power for sorcerers is basically a couple goal, The ultimate couple. At least Satour says. That being said working as a Jujutsu Sorcerer is both a mental, emotional and sometimes a physical strain on people. When things get too much for S/O, this man will stop what he’s doing, and will will be there his s/o, and his will be there for him when he the most. Having someone being there each is the most important thing in a relationships.
His clan was very against their relationship from the beginning. But Satour did not care, he loves who he loves so his clan/family can suck it.
His favorite nicknames for s/o are Sweetness, cutiepie, pumpkin, sugar, sweetheart, honeybuns and to get cringy Pookie. So weird one’s like Mochi cheeks, and beautiful or handsome.
His favorite nickname that his s/o calls sweetie, honey, goofball, goober and whackadoodle, knucklehead and dingus
When s/o are going away for a mission for a few a few days or few month, or Vice versa they would text, FaceTime pretty everyday. They talk about they day, and talk about the missions that had. Satour would have his students in the background who would say hello, and he and Yuji would make stupid jokes, and Nobara would laugh a bit and Megumi would roll his eyes in the background. And when his s/o get back from a mission this man is a very clingy little shit, he will hug the hell out his s/o when they get back. And would pout and whin if you have to a meeting or don’t have to see him. He’s a big a baby like that.
Over all this man is just big goofball, sure he’s annoying as fuck sometimes, but he dose cares about other’s. He’s a hot chaotic mess of a man, by God we love him for it.

Love Doesn’t Do Encores Ch11 Back To Motostoke
(Warning: Contains another fight between younger reader's mom and herself in a flashback. It was pointed out that I accidentally posted the wrong chapter by mistake. My apologies to my tumblr readers, Ill see to it this won’t happen again. Here’s the missing chapter for the events between Chapters 10-12. Enjoy.)
To say you two had a long night when you got back to your hotel room was an understatement. The boys jumped at the first chance they got asking Gloria how the dinner went to which she just let out a long drawn out 'Uuuuuhhhhh' and you had to cut in saying that he had just asked her about the gym battle and her day. Which she seemed thankful about you doing to save her the trouble. Luckily neither seemed too miffed about Glory getting to dine with THE Chairman Rose apparently, you certainly didn't enjoy the experience other than the free meal. You changed the subject by asking Hop when his battle was to which he proudly stated tomorrow. Alright! Seemed cleaned cut enough......Surprise, surprise it wasn't. The four of you ended up having to stay another two days instead for the one you all planned because Hop had lost the first battle with Nessa, visibly upset about the entire thing. Quite understandable. But to your surprise once meeting him outside the stadium he seemed...rather happy. Quickly finding out the reason not only because Nessa have him her ultra rare league card as compensation but that she offered to battle him again a second time first thing tomorrow morning to which he quickly agreed to. So the four of you agreed to spend another night in Hulbury. The next morning the four of you left bright and early for the stadium and after waiting for Hop to redo the gym challenge again, watched him battle Nessa for a second time. It was intense. It was stressful. And it was certainly rough on both parties. But you were SO glad Hop was able to win! Not only because you wanted him to win, but because you didn't want to spend another day in Hulbury. It was a close one too. With Hop winning two out of the three rounds but it was a good enough score to earn the badge! And he was proud to show it off as well when the three of you managed to meet up with him again outside the stadium by the Hulbury lighthouse.
He had smiled instantly shoving the bronze-golden badge out to you three with the same patterns that was on Gloria's water badge. "LOOK!! I FINALLY GOT IT! And on my second try too! Pretty good huh?"
"You were so cool out there!," Gloria excitedly complimented him smiling widely. "Now we're all caught up!"
"Doesn't make us less rivals y'know!"
"...Hey. Speaking of gym badges," you cut in gaining their attention as you gestured towards the badge in Hop's hand. "Do you guys know which gym you wanted to go to next?" You were really itching to get out of Hulbury by this point and just wanted to GO.
Gloria opened her mouth to speak but Hop beat her too it making all of you look back at him. "Actually, I have one on my mind."
"What is it?"
He turned to Gloria. " All right, Mate. You've got both the grass badge and water badge by now right?" She nodded confused. "In that case, we're both headed for Motostoke and the fire gym leader Kabu!"
All three of you stared shocked at him. The twins seeming at something else, and you because MOTOSTOKE. As in the city you all started in?! Hop wanted all of you to walk back ALL the way there to challenge a gym leader!? WHAT-
"What!? We have to go all the way back to Motostoke for that?!"
"KABU!?", both the twins yelled at him and you rose a brow at their reaction.
"....Ok. I feel like this is the part where someone tells me more about this gym leader."
With a slightly worried look Victor turned to you. "Kabu is the Galar Region's Fire Type Gym Leader and his gym's in Motostoke. He's also the only gym leader who's not from Galar himself."
"He's also the SECOND most powerful gym leader behind Raihan," Gloria jumped in frowning, "If Raihan and Leon weren't in the picture he could've easily gotten the title of 'Galar's Strongest Gym Leader' or the Champion itself. He's been known to make a whole bunch of trainers quit the entire gym challenge as a whole because they couldn't win against him." She turned back to Hop raising a brow. "Which begs the question on why do you want to go there next of all places?"
"Nessa suggested I go there actually." She did? That sure surprised you. "She said if I wanted more of a challenge for myself then he'd be a good canidate to battle before we reach Raihan. I thought it would be a great idea to challenge myself even more!"
.....Gloria hummed. "Actually you might be onto something. We can't get stronger unless we push ourselves..." She smiled. "Ok! Count me in too!"
"I think the both of you are in over your heads." Victor sighed. "But if that's where you wanna go then fine. We can take the train."
You felt internal relief you wouldn't have to walk again, but that begged the question. "Exactly how long would it take to get back there?"
"About another month by walking. Two weeks by corvinight taxi. And five days by train over nights too."
"Yeah..We're taking the train this time."
There was one tiny problem with that notion tho. The morning train had already passed so the four of you had to wait in the shade of the train station for at least another two hours until the afternoon train came rumbling up to the station at last! As nice as this place was, you wanted to leave as soon after you and Gloria attended the dinner with the Chairman and his assistant. After hearing he had come there often enough to have 'a usual' dish you didn't want to accidentally bump into them again especially after what you did and getting the off feeling about them. It was too weird, so you were glad to get on the train. You were slightly afraid you wouldn't be able to get on without paying but luckily you slipped through the bars quickly behind Gloria after she scanned her train pass in the slot and piled on inside with the rest of the kids and a few other people who either got on too or were leaving.
"Good Afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen. We will be leaving Hulbury Station in five minutes. Please gather all your belongings and exit or enter accordingly. Next stop shall be Nester Town. Thank you for using Galar Transportation for your traveling needs," a man's voice came through the speaker over head and you gave it a raised brow. You had to remember there was more than one town in Galar since now it wasn't just a game. ...In fact with how big this region was, it must've been home to millions of people like a region back in your world.
The four of you all settled into the train cars and gotten yourself situated into one of the seats with the table between them. The twins on one side and you with Hop facing them as you sighed into the soft seat cushions. It would be nice not having to walk somewhere for once at least. You also assumed Sonia must've had the same idea about taking the train outta here because you hadn't seem her since she excused herself and ran out from the dinner about two days ago now. Oh well. Where ever she was, you were sure she was fine. After all you slightly remembered her reappearing later in the game too, so if events were going as they were in the original game then you would most definately see her again soon. But for now you sighed content to just tug off your backpack and leave it on the floor at your feet, your sobble taken residence on the table between you all, and you just leaning back into your seat and looking out the window waiting for the train to start moving again. Not really paying too much attention to what the others were talking about-
"How about I share with you a little tip about that leader, Kabu?" Your eyes blinked back over to Hop who was glancing at his phone you assume reading something. "From what I heard, he's holed up now in Galar Mine No. 2 undergoing special training."
"What?!," Gloria gave him a look. "He's underground while the gym challenge is goin' on? What kind of gym leader does that?"
"If he's in there then we can't take him on in Motostoke even if we zip right over there, putting the breaks on our gym challenge!"
"That's what I literally just implied....Wait. How long has he been in there?"
"Uh.." Hop quickly flipped through his phone's screen. "According to this...since about three days ago."
"WHAT? Who trains in a cave for three days straight? ...What if he's not out by the time we get there? We'd be waitin' for days by that point!"
"....So I say we head to galar mine no. two ourselves!," Hop decided lowering the phone from his face. "Let's go see what all the fuss is about!"
"Uh-...NO!!" All three teens looked at you as you frowned and crossed your arms in a stern pose. "No. No. HECK NO!! I went through one mine thank you very much and was almost caught by miners chasing us because someone wanted to take a short cut. We can go and wait for him like every other person."
"...You did what!?"
"Actually Galar Mine Number two is open to the public since it's naturally a part of the Wild Area," Hop explained ignoring Victor's earlier question. "It's full of a lot of water pokemon since it's connected to an underground spring. You can also find a couple Wishing Stars if you're lucky. ..Huh. Maybe that's why he went there?"
Unconvinced you rose a brow but sighed and leaned back into your seat just as the train gave a small little lurch before slowly beginning to pull away. The kids going back to talk among themselves about mines and gym leaders. Despite not walking, you had a feeling this was going to be a long trip back to Motostoke. ...And you weren't wrong either. The world went past as the train moved along as a rapid pace, the town of Hulbury quickly disappearing from view as it did. Replaced by nature and forests, and the distant view of the ocean side within a matter of minutes. As the talking of the kids and other passengers chatting in the distance continued you pressed your forehead to the window and closed your eyes. Peace allowing you to drift off for the moment as for once you had no worries and nothing weighed on your shoulders, so you got a well deserved break for once. The next five days for the four of you were a bit uncomfortable but managable. A lot more managable than camping at least. When night fell you four decided that you'd take the two empty seats across the small walk way from the four of you so each of you could have one place to sleep comfortably(or as comfortable as you could sleep on a train) and would take turns staying up to make sure none of you missed the stop at Motostoke. Or in case something else happened. Victor volunteered to stay the first night up that rolled around which you were thankful for and the other three of you slept. The next morning you woke and you were greeted with the sight of Victor barely awake leaning his head against the table. Guess he kept true to his word. He only had time to east a couple things Gloria shoved into his hands from your food rations into his hands before he ended up falling asleep leaning against the wall. You felt a little guilty for letting him stay up for so long but it was for a good reason. The second day went as well as the first. The train rode on, Victor slept most of the day away only waking up around sunset before going back to sleeping again that second night, Gloria excitedly showed you the battle between herself and Nessa from the League's official website as well. You watched and had to agree with Gloria that it was a very close call. Managing to defeat Nessa in the first round, losing the second, and then just BARELY winning the third. Good thing it was a good enough score to pass. She was certainly stronger than Milo from what you'd seen. When it came the second night Gloria ended up volunteering to stay up that time stating that she'd use her favorite videos of the League's past battles to keep her up as she always stayed up and never missed a detail when she did watch them. This being confirmed by Victor who looked a little worried over that but was too tired from last night to argue and it was agreed. Day three rolled around and it was the same as the first two. Only this time Gloria spent most of the day leaning against a slightly annoyed Victor snoring. Did she always snore? You must've been too deep in sleep to notice before now, at least Hop found his friends' situation amusing. And then guess who got volunteered by Victor to stay up that night as revenge for laughing at him. Hop wasn't very amused after that. And thus the fourth day came and everyone was awake minus poor Hop who laid upon one of the empty seats during most of the time there. But it was a matter of fact your turn to keep watch as they all slept and agreed without hesitation. After all it was only fair. During the entirety of the trip so fair you all rationed out the food you bought from Hulbury whenever hungry, and walked up and down the walk way between all the train seats if you needed to stretch your legs. Many people coming and going and sometimes giving the one taking up a whole seat to sleep a strange look before moving on. The conductor announcing each stop and as you all came to it. So far none were Motostoke but it was only a matter of time. That night you stayed up as slowly one by one the kids and your sobble fell asleep leaving you the only one awake as the sun set and was replaced with the moon and stars in the silent night. The dark nature of forests and meadows flew by quickly only with the occasional town or house in the countryside lighting up the landscape. It was actually rather peaceful and beautiful. You could almost fall asleep. And you almost did quite a few times but you managed to jerk yourself awake each time. Gloria had offered to let you stream some shows on her phone just as she had done before but you had declined the offer.....Maybe you should've accepted because your eyes slipped closed once. And once again like in your dreams you were back home. A much younger you. Around Gloria's age of fifthteen or so. You were playing a game. The whole surroundings were fuzzy..as if you were seeing everything through a foggy telescope, being able to see things but being too blurry to see much of the finer details. Younger blurry you looked up just as angry footsteps stomped their way towards you and whatever game you were playing. BAM!! With a loud bang your door was flung open hitting the wall and younger you jumped to your feet as the blurry form of your mother standing in the doorway. Even if her face was blurry you could tell she was very angry.
"WHAT DID I TELL YOU!?" She shouted angrily as you dumbly stood there. Even as she stomped over and swiped the controller from your younger self's hands. "I told you to study for your year's finals and what do I find!? You playing these stupid games after I slave away at a minimal wage job that barely covers the bills as it is!! Do you want the electricity bill getting higher!? Do you not want to get into a good college!? No daughter of mine is going to be stuck with her mind in the gutter from these dumb timewasters!!"
"HA!"
Your head snapped up colliding with the cool window of the train which in turn made you curse out as your hands instinctively shot up to clutch at where you hit your head. Groaning and looking around, it took a moment for your eyes to adjust to the dark again....And you sighed in relief seeing the sleeping figures of the kids and your sobble sleeping facedown on the table. Your hand went from rubbing your head to rubbing your face as you let relief wash over you....A dream...It was just another dream thank goodness. But one you weren't keen on revisiting. Safe to say you didn't fall asleep again that night, nor did you the fifth day despite the kids insisting you at least take a powernap before you arrived but again you refused dodging the questions and eventually they dropped it but kept giving your very tired form worried looks every so often. The day was a blur as you kept drifting in and out of small sleeping spells until nodding off that fifth night, barely remembering Victor volunteering to stay up a second time for that night before completely nodding off into a thankfully dreamless slumber.
"AH!! Y/N WAKE UP!!"
"AH!" Once again as if fate thought it'd be some funny joke, you ended up hitting your head against the window...again...and once again you cried out and clutched your head. The only difference this time was that someone was dragging your half awake butt out of the seat as your brain barely registered what was going on as you barely managed to stumble to your legs getting dragged out. Another person grabbing your other arm and pulling along with whoever was already making your barely upright body hurriedly stumble down the walk way of the train. Your brain began to finally catch up and you realized the two who were pulling your staggering form was Hop and Gloria with your sobble desperately clinging to her enormous backback. By the time you fully registered what was going on they already had you stumbling into what could only be the inside of a train station. "What the-"
"You couldn't have woken us up?," Gloria barked at someone and you blinked over tiredly where she was looking as Hop ushered your staggering form over to one of the seats. Took you a moment to realize that it was Victor who was sluggishly putting his grey beanie back on his head.
"M' sorry," he tiredly mumbled. Judging by the bags under his eyes and the tired look he gave, he was in need of some sleep. "I guess I must've dozed off when we passed the station in Motostoke."
Your blood ran cold as you stared at him and Hop made you sit down. Passed Motostoke!? Any sleepy feelings were mostly dashed out at the spike of concern. How far were you away from Motostoke then!? Were you going to have to walk a long way back there!? Take another train back!? Were you going to miss the chance to battle Kabu?!
"Actually this is better than stopping in Motostoke."
.....The three of you turned to Hop as he smiled. "....Excuse me?"
"Yeah!" He pointed towards the outside of the station. "Mine Number two is located just out of Motostoke right? We're back in the Wild Area. Which means we can go to the mine sooner and see about the hold up with Kabu!"
...Gloria slowly gained a smile. "Oh yeah! I hadn't realized that! That's why yer a genius Hop!" Hop chuckled shyly at the praise. Tho Victor very much disagreed as he frowned.
"What?! We can't just go to the mines as soon as we step off the train! What about getting a spot at Budew Drop Inn for sleep!?"
"There'll be plenty of time for that!" Gloria waved her brother off as he scowled looking like he was about ready to yell at her.
Guess you'd better step in. "Hey. Calm down you two." Both of them looked towards you as you frowned. "Gloria, Victor has a point. He's tired and probably needs some sleep....Maybe we should go back to Motostoke City and let him get a couple rooms for us-"
"THAT'S A GREAT IDEA!!," Victor yelled out reaching around to grab his backpack from the slew of seats offered too by the station.
"....What?"
Tiredly, Victor looked at the rest of you three. "You all can head to the mines and I can go reserve our rooms and wait for you. I'm tired."
"Whoa, whoa, whoa." You interjected pointing a hand at him. "You REALLY expect ME to let you go into Motostoke by yourself when you barely got any sleep last night??"
"I'll be fine," he insisted regaining his composure and sighing as the weight of the very large pack settled back on his back. "If it makes you feel better, I'll wait for you guys here and we can take the noon train back into Motostoke in a couple hours."
You paused for a moment before turning towards the door outside. It looked like the sun was just starting to rise from the night and the train was starting to pull away at this moment. It was pretty early in the morning, so if you left now then the four of you could make the noon train back in time. And Victor could get a bit of rest..but you were a bit unsure about letting Victor just stay here by himself. So you looked back at him. "Are you sure you wanna stay here by yourself?"
"I spent an entire year by myself traveling before Gloria even started this journey," he confired waving his hand. "I'll be fine for a few hours...*yaaawwwnn*"
You still weren't too convinced but agreed that this would probably be a better plan than letting Victor try to go into Motostoke by himself and drop from lack of sleep, or having Hop or Gloria just run off into a mine. (especially since that worked oh so well last time.) "Ok. You win. But I at least want you to seat over here where the station master can see you in case something happens, alright?"
Victor sighed but nodded. "Fine. But make sure you guys get back before the next train otherwise we'll have to wait for the night train or walk there."
The three of you agreed before exiting the station and once again you found yourself standing in the Wild Area like you did a month ago when you were on your way to the Entrance Ceremony. It may have only been a little more than a month ago but it felt like forever ago now. It still looked the same as it did when you first arrived here minus the giant herd of wild wooloo on the tracks. Hop walked up next to you and looked around at the lovely sight. Commenting on how cool it looked. To which you agreed before turning over to Gloria who finally walked out of the station stuffing two pokeballs into her bag as she walked up to you.
"Hey. What are those?," you asked gesturing to them.
"Some people in there didn't want their eevee and pikachu. So I got both of them."
You rose a brow but decided not to comment on that, instead looking around. "Ok. So do either of you two know where this mine is? I don't remember seeing it last time we were here. ..Mostly being chased around by a giant onix and battling super powered pokemon."
"You're never going to let me live that down are you?"
"I do." Hop beamed before pointing off to the fight across the giant spacious open land to where a pretty decent area of trees were huddled together by a hill side. "It's there by those trees according to the map, and every other site where it's listed. C'mon! We can get there and be back in like two hours."
While you were weary of wondering around an area where wild animals-...Er..Pokemon could chase after you at any moment, but seeing no other option the three of you began walking. Despite you still feeling a bit tired from not sleeping the night or day before last night, you felt alert looking around you three in the grass and plants as you walked. Making sure no pokemon jumped out at the three of you as you walked and walked..and walked before the cliff side jutting out of the earth surrounded by trees. As you three approuched and managed to pass through the trees you finally came across it. A giant, dark opening within the rocks being only lit on the inside by a few lanturns strung along the walls leading down into it.
"This is it!," Hop excitedly exclaimed as he picked up his pace gesturing for you two to follow him faster. "C'mon! Kabu's close! I can feel it!"
Increasing your speed you followed him into the cave's opening and blinked as mostly darkness overtook your vision. This cave was BIG, way bigger than the last cave you and Gloria traveled through. The ceilings were high and the same gems as the last one was scattered about the wallas....as well as a few construction workers and equipment.
......You pointed at them. "Hey. I thought you said this was public area!"
"It is," Hop's voice from somewhere ahead of you called back, "But they can collect Wishing Stars here too so they come by and collect them."
Oh that made sense, you glanced at the workers for a little while longer before turning back about to ask Hop something but stopped....They were gone. "....HOP!?" You shouted getting only an echo back, and some of the workers looking at you before you took off in the direction his voice came from. Oh great! First minute in the cave and already you lost these kids!! "GLORIA!? HOP!! C'MON YOU TWO!!" You called out but surprise, surprise only got your echo back. ...Great. Well you better find them before they got in trouble again or any of you got lost. As you traveled farther in with only lanturns plastered on the walls for light, you began to notice how it was connected with the Wild Area. There was pokemon all around here. From bat-like pokemon hanging from the ceiling, a couple scraggies hopping about, and more than once in this GIGANTIC cave and it's caverns, you walked by a small cave like pond and could've sworn you saw some kind of red crustation pop in and out. But with the limited light it made it hard to see and find out for real. More than once you would call out either of the two's names but the only answers were more echoes of your voice, and the sounds of scared pokemon as they fled from your voice. Your sobble(who had regained it's spot on your shoulder after leaving the station) was staring around wide eyed with chirps, occasionally reaching out towards the sparkling stones on the wall. "Yeah. I know they're pretty. But we can't stop and look at them right now. We need to find those two before they get in trouble again." Your sobble chirped curiously grabbing at a sparkling stone from a very close stalagmite as you passed it, the rock easily plucking free as he tugged it. Looking at it curiously...before sticking it in his mouth. !? "HEY!" In an instant you grabbed him by the chin. Your other hand trying to open his mouth as like a child, the sobble squirmed and pushed away. "DROP IT!! BAD POKEMON!! SPIT IT OUT!! IT'S NOT FOOD!!" Instead of listening your pokemon turned his head cheeks puffed out as your fear of him swallowing something that could hurt him rose. "Spit that out or I'm never going to let you have bites of my curry ever again!" This time the sobble paused, looking at you for any signs of deceit, but you absolutely meant it. Holding your hand out expectantly to it.......It opened it's mouth and the sparkling stone fell right into your hand. Quickly you pulled it away from your sobble releasing it with a scowl. "Good boy. Now don't do that again! Rocks aren't edible!" He gave off a chirp in protest but didn't do any more than pout like a toddler on your shoulder. With a sigh you shook your head and looked at the small stone in your hand...Huh. This one didn't look like all the others on the wall. Maybe it was a different one-
"You!" You jumped at the sudden voice. Blinking around at who could've said it when your eyes landed on someone walking towards you in the dim light with pale features. ..Your f/c eyes widening when you realized who it was. Standing before you was Bede! You hadn't seen him a little over a week ago by now, but for some reason he was here and he frowned at you. "It's an inconvience in of itself that I run into that girl and the Champion's chatterbox younger brother, but now I run into the very lady who disrespected the Chairman's assistant as well! Are you all trying to get on my nerves or is this bad luck on my part?"
It took you a moment to respond as he rubbed his head but you frowned right back at him. "Look, Kid. I'm not the one who straight up walked up to someone who's minding their own business and rudely ask about why I was here? For all you knew I could've just been going for a walk or sight seeing the famous Mine Number Two or just exploring the Wild Area. Did I come up to YOU and accuse you of following us from Hulbury? No. No I didn't."
Bede stared at you from under his hand, brain seeming to process what you were saying before a deeper frown is what he chose to go with. "BAH!! Never mind then! I've wasted enough time as it is down here especially after running into those two again. Now if you'll move aside I'll be taking my...." He froze. Purple eyes widening at you, and you rose a brow at his all of a sudden silence. ".......You." He pointed right at the sparkling stone in your hand. "That Wishing Star! Give it to me."
...You held up the stone. "Y'mean the rock this guy tried to eat-" Hold up! Weren't Wishing Stars the magic stone thingies everyone used to gigantamax their pokemon around here!? " You already have one of these." You pointed to the band on his wrist. "Why do you need this one?"
he gave a small growl of frustration. "I don't need to explain myself to the likes of you, Woman! If you won't give it too me then I'll just take it from you!" With that he whipped out a pokeball.
"Oh for the love of- You can't be serious!"
With a toss and bright like a small Gothita pokemon exploded in black in white in front of you. .....WHY was the first reaction for everyone to just whip out a pokemon to intimidate you if you hesitated even just a little bit?? This kid absolutely had NO manners! "Gothita will make quick work of you and your sobble if you don't hand that stone over to me this instant." He was REALLY getting on your nerves. You stepped forward. He smirked. "Another challenge? Really I couldn't be more inconvenienced today as it i-" You stepped OVER Gothita who looked confused as it why you weren't standing farther away sending the sobble on your shoulder to battle. Bede seemed also rather smackgobbed as well. Guess he hadn't ever experienced someone who would physically step over his pokemon instead of battling. His eyes widening as you walked right up to him with a scowl.
You stared a moment at his frozen and confused stance before deciding to talk. "Y'know. Obviously you have no manners. The Chairman should be ashamed of himself if his endorsed challenger is so rude to someone minding their own business and demanding things like a spoiled toddler who's never been told no before."
Bede flinched. Blinking rapidly in your shadow before seeming to regain his voice. "D-Don't talk about Chairman Rose like that-"
"I WAS talking about YOU, Bede!" He flinched back as you leaned forward. "Obviously no one ever taught you manners so I'll teach you a quick lesson in them right now."
His eyes became smaller. "L-Lesson? What l-lesson you m-mad woman-"
"Is THIS what you want?,'' you cut him off holding the wishing star to his face. He paused for a moment, almost going cross eyed as he looked at the thing in front of his face...before reaching a hand towards i- You held it away from him with a scowl. "NO. You don't take things that don't belong to you without asking first. Now I'll ask again. Is this what you want?"......He nodded. "Ok. Do you know what please and thank you are?"....He nodded again. "Good. Now what do you say when you want something?"
He didn't answer at first. Looking at you with some unreadable expression. Confusion? Shell shock?...Maybe fear? ".....May I...please have that Wishing Star, Miss?" Narrowing your eyes for a moment you eventually held it up to him and he reached for it again.
"Yes, you may. But I want an apology first?"
He paused again. "....A-Apology?!"
"Yeah. For acting so rude before. If you really are the better person you will apologize because I don't think the Chairman raised a boy with no manners."
You both stood there for a moment not moving or breaking eye contact before he backed down first and looked away. "Tch! Fine! I'm.....sorry! Now can you please just give me the stone so I can leave!?"
Smiling satisfied you nodded and held it out to him...he...slowly finally took it from you. "What do you say?"
"Mmmm....Thank you," he forced out through gritted teeth as you nodded.
"Good. Now I have to go now but I don't want to be talked to rudely like that again if I ever see you again. ...And don't call me Woman. My name's Y/n. I know you're better than that, Bede." He paused....blinking and looking up at you again seeming to be so, so confused. "You said you saw Gloria and Hop right? Did they go down that way?" You asked pointing behind him. Still staring he slowly nodded. "Ok. Thanks. You be careful getting out of here ok?"
He didn't say anything and just confusedly watch you step around him silently and continue walking away down into the dimly lit cave. At least you were on the right track now. Hopefully you'll be able to catch up with the two of them soon. And by soon it meant it'd take longer than you realized, coming across a fork in the road as hey say and leaving two caverns tunnels to chose from.......You ultimately decided on going left since it was more lit and figured they'd be smart enough to also go down this passage way. As you walked you called out a few times more still getting no answers. This was getting ridiculous!! Where could those two have gone!? Surely they couldn't have gone THAT far away from you in the short time you weren't looking!
"Thank you for helping out with my training, Team Yell." You paused as the voice rang out....What was- "But I must say it's unforgivable for you to get in the way of a carkol hard at work." ...OK! THAT WAS DEFINATELY A VOICE!! Granted it sounded older and nothing like the two kids, but if someone was down here then maybe you could ask for directions or if they saw the two. You broke out in a job up the tunnel towards the voices up ahead.
"We weren't gettin' in it's way! We were tryin' to cheer it on!," a different man's voice insisted loudly. What the-
You rounded the corner as the tunnel gave way to a giant cavern and you froze....OH NO NOT THEM!!
"Still, you did a number on us in that pokemon battle so...it's time for Team Yell to scarper and give a morale boost elsewhere!," one rock star wannabe said to an older man and standing next to another rock star wannabe.
You stared dumbfounded. SERIOUSLY!? What was the chances that you'd run into them all the way down here again!?
"Cheering is one thing but one shouldn't get in the way of honest work,'' the older man scolded the two of them.
You rose a brow at them, eyes slowly going to look behind them. And widening as you saw two teens standing in the entrance of another passage way across the cavern room. ...You frowned. "HOP!! GLORIA!!" Everyone either jumped or snapped their heads over to you as you shouted at the kids' direction. "Dang nabit! Why'd you run off from me like that!? Don't you know how to wait up!?" You started walking over towards them.
...One rockstar wannabe grabbed his friend wide eyed as he stared at you walking past. "C-Crikey! Bro, it's that dame that nailed Andrew in the eyes with dirt!"
"Wha- Seriously!? Let's get outta 'ere before that sobble starts singing a sad tune yo!"
You paid no mind to the scattering footsteps as you walked up to the now gulity looking pair of kiddos. "There you are! *sigh* Do you know how worried I was running around here like a headless chicken?"
"......What's a chicken?," Gloria asked.
"We're really sorry, Y/n," Hop apologized frowning, "we thought you were right behind us and then we ran into some trouble."
"Oh yeah. So did I. Bede needed some manners taught to him."
"Wait..Ya saw the Mareep Head??"
You nodded. "I ran into him on his way out. He said you gave him some trouble."
"By trouble if ya mean kickin' his behind-"
"Nevermind that. Y/n we found him!"
"Found who?"
Hop pointed behind you and you turned with a brow raised. The old man was petting a pokemon that looked like a giant living piece of coal. "There! That's Kabu!...Man, he's wicked! No wonder he's the fire-type gym leader!"
...THAT was Kabu!? Well whaddya know. It made sense since by looking at him now, he wore an unmistakable gym suit. The old man, Kabu, looked up at you three from petting his pokemon and gave a polite smile. "Ah, you are the trainers endorsed by Leon! Hop and Gloria, am I right?"
Both pair of young eyes went wide at him. ".....You know our names!?"
"Yes. Leon has spoken about you before. And your concerned friend just literally shouted your names just now."
"......Oh. W-Well we're here to see you actually! A-About having a pokemon battle!"
"Naturally you would. I'm just training right up until the last moment so that I can guarantee the perfect match when I face you gym challengers."
"Oh really?," you asked and he nodded, "This deep in a cave?"
"I specialize in fire-type pokemon, and the water-type pokemon in Galar Mine Number Two are the perfect opponents to train against, Young Lady."....He hummed and you all watched as he looked at a watch around his wrist. "....Regardless it's getting late. I must leave if I'm going to get the gym ready by tomorrow." he looked back to the three of you with a smile. "Just go straight once you get out of this mine and you'll reach Motostoke. Get a good at the hotel, and make sure you're both in your top condition." He turned around calling to the pokemon. "Come on, Carkol. Time for you to head on home, too. I'll make sure you get there safely. We're going to be on fire tomorrow!" He began jogging off and the thing lumbered off after him with a grunt of it's own. The man looked old enough to be your grandfather and could still jog as fast as you had done earlier. Impressive.
"....I remember Lee talking about Kabu." You blinked over to Hop as he looked at where Kabu disappeared. "He said that a lot of gym challengers give up because they just can't beat Kabu. Man, now I'm getting all fired up too!"
"Yeah. Well, I'm tired out!" Both paused looking at you. "C'mon. You heard what he said. Let's get back to Victor and get to the Inn."
The three of you started making your way back out of the mine and back towards The Wild Area Station. You were tired and you could use a rest before catching the evening train back into Motostoke where you began in the first place. Surprisingly you made it out faster than it took going in the caverns.
"That carkol from before," Hop commented off in thought, "I guess it must've been here on a job. You do know about poke job by now right?" You nodded. "Course you do! I bet he hired that carkol to train with him or something!"
"You might be right, but after today I think I just want to get to the hotel and relax."
Hop nodded. ".....Oh hey. I think we found out who those guys in the punk make up were?"
You froze. Nearly stumbling over your feet as you did so before snapping your face over towards the boy. "WHAT!?"
He nodded. "Yeah. They called themselves Team Yell. Which is weird cuz I've never heard of them before and I don't remember Lee mentioning them at all. What about you Glor?" Gloria shook her head no to his question.....Team Yell?? They were team Yell?? What name was that?? Any 'team' you knew from the Pokemon franchise was evil. Team Rocket being the most obvious in your mind, but if that's true then does that mean those Rockstar wannabe's are more dangerous than they seem? Did Team Yell have a world domination scheme from the game!? You tried to wrack your brain for any and all possible villainous plots in the game that could involve a whole bunch of rockstar make up wearing hooligans....But ended up with...absolutely nothing!! DANGIT!! You couldn't remember anything from playing it years ago! ....*sigh* The only thing you could do now was push on and keep your eyes peeled for any possible trouble they'd cause you. "Now, I'm cream-crackered." Hop's voice snapped you back into reality. "I'm for the Budew Drop Inn and some sleep. Come tomorrow that Fire Gym Leader Kabu better be ready because I'm coming for him!!"
Gloria nodded in agreement. "Yeah. We better get back ta Vic before he decides on givin' us another boring lecture on being late."
You couldn't agree more either. Maybe some more sleep will help you think more clearly than normal. The three of you made your way back towards the station with the afternoon sun rising high in the sky, upon entering you discovered Victor exactly where you all left him. Fast asleep leaning back in one of the chairs. He must've been more tired than you realized, maybe it was for the best he stayed behind here. It took only an hour of your four waiting, appreciating the small break your body got, before the afternoon train came rumbling on in as per usual. It was a jumbled process of trying to wake up Victor who acted like a caffiene lacking zombie until you and Hop decided 'Screw this' and both of you picked him up by either side and dragged his half asleep, staggering, groggy butt over and onto the train with Gloria right behind. It wasn't much easier pushing him into a seat next to you and trying to wake him up for the ten minute ride back into Motostoke, before unsuccessfully doing so and resulted in both of you again half dragging Victor off the train in Motostoke station and on your way to Budew Drop Inn with Gloria trailing right behind you three. Sure it was hard, but you couldn't imagine trying to do this walking all the way back to Motostoke through the Wild Area with dangerous pokemon about, so the train was much better. It took a bit of lifting and slight yelling from Hop for Victor to wake up, getting some strange looks from other people as you went, but by some miracle the four of you somehow managed to make it into the inn you stayed at before during the entrance ceremony. The golden statue still gleaming as ever as you and Hop struggled to get the mumbling Victor up the stairs and over to the bewildered looking clerk at the front desk. WHAT THE HECK WAS IN HIS BACKPACK MAKING HIM SO HEAVY!? It was an effort to keep him up standing as Hop smiled awkwardly at the man.
"Uh hi! We need two rooms for the night please. And fast before my friend decides to drop dead on us."
The clerk blinked for a moment before slowly nodded. "Oh. Of course. Are you challengers here to battle against Kabu?"
Hop nodded. "Yeah that's us alright. Or will be once we get some sleep."
The clerk nodded in understanding smiling. "Oh yes! Wait here for a moment and I'll get you your room keys."
You rose a brow. "Don't we need to register?"
"Oh no. Mr. Kabu has graciously told us to put any registered gym challengers' stays on his tab and send him the bills. After all he doesn't know how long they'll stay before quitting and going home. He's a kind man that doesn't want them or their families stuck with any expensive hotel bills if they stay for a long time before getting stomped out," he said so casually like it was no big deal. ....You and Hop gave each other a look..before exchanging one with Gloria who just shrugged at the both of you. The clerk turned around. "Just one moment please while I check and see which rooms would be available."
"Jeez. If Kabu's this tough, Rahain and Lee's gonna be even more tough-"
"Excuse me." The three of you looked over your shoulder towards a soft polite girl's voice with an accent you couldn't place. Standing there was a teen around these guys' age in almost gothic attire and right blue eyes. At her heels was a small pokemon who you'd call hamster like. Except she wasn't looking at you or Hop or Victor. But Gloria. "Uhhh. Challenger Gloria, Right? From Postwick?"
Gloria blinked in surprise seemingly surprised, before raising a suspicious brow at the girl. "Yeah? ....And yer who?"
"Marnie." She answered politely back. "Out givin' it your all even this late, huh? Hey. Help me with somethin' for a sec. Would you?"
Gloria remained silent for a moment. "....Help you with what?"
"I want t' see if I'm ready for the next leg of the Gym Challenge."
"...Why me?"
"You're one of the challengers endorsed by the Champion. I figured the best way to see if I was ready at all was t' see if I'd be able to beat a fellow gym challenger before I leave. Would you like to battle with me?"
"Gloria. We need to get Victor to his room so he can sleep," you countered feeling the weight of Victor start to weigh down more on you.
"I know, I know but...." She looked between the girl and the three of you. "She asked for my help, and it'd be rude to just say no right?" You gave her a look. "Oh c'mon please, Y/n! It'll be quick. N' and out! Easy peasy berry squeezy."
....You groaned. You really didn't have time for this! " Fine! But please for the love of Mike hurry and get back? We've been running around all day and you need rest for the battle tomorrow!"
She beamed. "Ya got it! Get ready ta have your team beat!"
The girl smiled. "Wicked! Got some fight in you, Huh? "
"You bet! Let's do this!"
You sighed and turned shaking your head. Only distracted from them when Hop grabbed the keys from the clerk and jingled them at you to let you know you two could now go and get Victor laying down. As the two of you turned to struggle Victor towards the elevator the girls left-....!? Your head snapped around as a dash of red and black crossed the corner of your eye, but it was gone the moment you turned around.....What the-
"C'mon Y/N! He's gettin' too heavy to lug around for much longer."
...You turned back to the elevator before the doors closed behind you. It was probably nothing anyways. Right now you had a kid who needed to sleep badly. The two of you managed to drag Victor who ended up passing out in your arms to his and Hop's room, and after Hop struggled to open the door, dragged him to the nearest bed and plopped him on top of it with sighs of relief when your poor body was finally freed from heaving him around. After assuring you he'd take care of things from there, you took your own room key from Hop and went to your own room. It didn't take you too long to get settled in after taking a quick shower, and again rummaging through your pack to fish some food out for your chirping, pouting, hungry sobble. Man the little guy ate a whole lot. It was a little while later as you were eating yourself that Gloria finally showed up, knocking on the door before coming in after hearing your voice.
"Hey. How did the battle go?"
She smiled. "I'd hate to brag....But I won."
You nodded. "Hey! That's great. Glad to know it went well."
She nodded again. "Yeah....But I gotta tell ya something." You rose a brow at her curiously. "...Those Team Yell guys from earlier? They were there."
You dropped the small dried piece of fruit you were holding which your sobble was quick to snatch up and eat. "WHAT!?"
"YEAH!! There was a guy and this woman wearin' all this all this punk make up, and they were cheerin' for 'er. I almost lost cuz I they were so loud makin' it hard to focus. I guess that's why they're Team 'Yell'. Should call 'em team Scream if ya ask me."
"Team Yell was with the girl?" She nodded. "Did they try anything?! Are you ok?"
"I'm fine," she assured you, "But nah. One of 'em was wavin' this flag that had Marnie's picture on it. ...Do they do that? Y'know make merch for Gym Challengers with our faces on them? If they do I'm totally buying Mum one!"
They....Team Yell was....Cheering on Marnie?? That didn't make any sense. They had said a while ago that they were trying to stop Gym Challengers. Why would they be cheering a Gym Challenger on if they were trying to stop them let alone have merch of one??? It didn't add up. Except for maybe-......You paused. Back at the bridge. When you and Victor encountered those two thugs trying to steel the poor nurse's bike!! They spoke of a lady! Could it by that the girl and 'Our Lady' they spoke of was one in the same? Or was Marnie somehow connected to the woman they spoke of?? Was she a part of Team Yell secretly? If yes then what interest did they have in the Gym Challenge?? Did Leon have something they want?? Were they just trying to cheat their way to the top??.....Or..Your eyes widened. Was there something that the Challenge league had that they wanted and were after?? Control over the Galar Region? Money? Power? Fame? Some other powerful thing you couldn't remember?? ...If she wasn't a part of them then what WAS their purpose for cheering her on?...Could the mysterious woman they spoke of be related to Marnie? Or maybe someone who endorsed her for the gym challenge? You shook your head. It was all so confusing. Too many questions and absolutely no answers at all. It made your head hurt just swimming with the many possibilities.
"Oh by the way. While I was out the battling got me thinkin' 'bout some strageties I could use to beat Kabu."
"Oh really?," you muttered half listening deep in thought.
"Uh huh. But I gotta ask. Y/n, can I borrow your sobble?"
"Sure you can-.....Wait. ..What?!"

♡ ⸻ 𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐇𝐎𝐌𝐄 𝐚𝐮: a woman with neither past nor future, she is lamentably part of an ancient lineage of servants and gisaengs who never bothered to fight for a better present, for a brighter future. even in the current day, with naught but few houses still working in the business of entertainment, that’s where she has grown up and that’s where she will die: there is no need for humans in the chambers where she dances and sings and performs, for humans break easily and can never be truly fixed ; what is needed is a doll, one that can be torn apart just as many times as it is necessary to do so, only to easily put her jagged pieces back together. but what happens when the doll becomes a monster, a half-monster ? ever since the entity took residence in the depth of her mind, ahri understood that this was her one and only chance to be more than a fragile little woman wearing garments of silk and velvet: this was her one and only chance to have others beg at her feet. and thus, with a subconscious much too twisted and fragmented to be wholly dominated by the entity, ahri is slowly learning how to control her monstrous self, her freshly birthed desires, her vicinity to the freedom that she has dreamt of for the entirety of her life.
*** [ i miss my sweet home oc a lot but i don’t think i have time to be on so many blogs at the same time so this felt like the best solution to my love & adoration for this media ! obviously, ahri’s monster form revolves around the features of the nine tailed fox: when she is only partially transformed, she will have a constantly changing amount of tails and only when she will be wholly transformed, will she actually resemble the beast of the myths. ]
♡ ⸻ 𝐏𝐒𝐘𝐂𝐇𝐎-𝐏𝐀𝐒𝐒 𝐚𝐮: a criminally asymptomatic woman, who once foolishly dreamed of becoming a famous pop singer: unfortunately, due to the inability of the sibyl system to properly scan and categorize her value and thus decide on a path for her, ahri soon became an achromatic ghost in a colorful society where everything was strictly and ultimately decided by the artificial mind & heart of the city. thrown to the side and cruelly shunned by everyone around her, ahri struggled for many years, fighting against an impending sense of doom and drowning in an ever-haunting loneliness, searching for a place in which she could finally be herself, a place in which her colors could have shone as bright as those of anyone else. in the end, she found what she had been looking for in the illegal underground, where anyone willing to oppose the dictatorship of sibyl gathered. there, she started performing for her “comrades”, donning a fox mask in pursuance of concealing her real identity and focused on gathering as much information about the system as she could ; with her knowledge about technology and especially drones / bots, she built herself a little family of artificial foxes that now serve as spies, defenders and even hunting beasts. although she does not have a real purpose in her life, she is continuously searching for new stimuli and experiences, intoxicated by the awareness that she can easily avoid the lethal shots of the dominators thanks to her curse, thanks to her blessing.
♡ ⸻ 𝐆𝐑𝐈𝐒𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐄 𝐚𝐮: a creature of old, one that hauntingly lingers in the most ancient of legends and in the most gruesome of tales narrated to naughty children before their bedtime: ahri is an ancient creature, a fox who has lived long enough to accumulate an enormous amount of mystical power within herself and who is now capable of freely molding her physical self at will. her little home, situated in the heart of an “enchanted” forest, is rarely treaded ‘pon, for the inhabitants of the nearby villages have yet to forget and move on from the inhumane screams that sometimes echo throughout the entire land. in order to earn her favor and hopefully soothe her childishly irritable disposition, each month the villagers leave jewels and incenses and books and exquisite fabrics in the outskirts of the forest: truth to be told, she does appreciate these little offerings a lot. believed to bring good luck to lovers and dismay to hunters, it is not too unusual for desperate lovestruck souls to seek for her help, for the miraculous love potions that she is said to be crafting... unfortunately, one may never know which side the fox will take, nor whether she will be willing to help or not. despite her desire not to engage with the power plays between the royals and the grisha, she is not against the idea of lending a hand / for the right price, of course.
*** [ ahri is ancient and capricious, someone who has observed the world change from the comfortable safety of her little forest. despite her innate hostility towards humans, she is easily intrigued by the desires and goals of others, especially if they are harbored by peculiar hearts: the only way not to be eaten by her is indeed this, to pique her attention. she could be a valuable ally, but is it really a good idea to trust a fox ? ]
♡ ⸻ 𝐈𝐍𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐂𝐘𝐂𝐋𝐄 𝐚𝐮: tba, because i’m really struggling with this. on one side, she could easily be a “werefox” ( since we canonically have werecats in the novels ) but i don’t know if this sounds interesting... or, maybe she could simply be a spirit who has taken on a humane physical appearance to mingle with mortals ? still thinking about this, might even re-read the books to see if i get any sudden inspiration. one thing that i might work with is the fact that in the first book, it is said that “The Spine was one of the only places that King Galbatorix could not call his own. Stories were still told about how half his army disappeared after marching into its ancient forest. A cloud of misfortune and bad luck seemed to hang over it.” so maybe that’s where ahri resides ? far from everyone, in her own little realm, ready to eat anyone who dares interrupt her peace.
♡ ⸻ 𝐍𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓 𝐚𝐮: an ancient and malicious sorcerus hailing from the forgotten kingdom of ashkahi, ahri has sacrificed her humanity in the name of the moon and his cult in pursuance of earning the abilities to manipulate the hearts and souls of others. once her beloved home was lamentably eradicated from existence by the falling of the deity’s skull, she began traveling across the world, earning riches and breaking hearts and painting her hands in red whenever the situation called for it ; left without a purpose and without a hearth to ever come back to, the soulless woman began to ultimately lose herself, becoming naught but the selfish and hollow ghost of who she once was. things, however, changed once she was requested to become part of the red church. even though she currently does not appreciate the ones who rule over the church, she remains loyal to the murderous cult of the mother... waiting for something to happen, for a reason to finally breathe again.
♡ ⸻ 𝐏𝐎𝐊𝐄𝐌𝐎𝐍 𝐚𝐮: a coordinator with a dark past, ahri is continuously struggling to find her place in the world. after leaving floaroma town, she and her vulpix were scouted by the team galactic with deceitful promises to create together a better future for everyone. she fought hard and did her very best to blindly obey to every order that she was given but after the first real defeat of their leader, she ended up abandoning the team out of all-devouring guilt. in order to try and cleanse her hands from all the crimes that she had naively committed, she started traveling from one region to the other, capturing new friends, strengthening her own mind and slowly growing interested in the world of contests: rather than relying on violence, these contests relied on beauty and grace and that felt like the fastest way to move away from all the pain and ache that she had previously caused. currently, she is pursuing a career as a coordinator and is chasing the dream of spreading the traditions of the pokemon festivals across the other regions, as well ; her couple of ninetales has become two of the hardest foes to defeat in the field.

Words: 4.5K
Warnings: Some angst and intense scenes
Song Inspo: You’ll Ask For Me by Tyler Hilton
A/N: Lemme know what you think. I have two specific scenes for this pairing in my head. Not much more after that. This is a “whim” fic. OC is a WOC.
❖❖❖
“Do you really live on a plane?”
Artemis smiled as she tucked the brown carry-on into the overhead bin. If only she had a dime for every time she received that question.
Securing the bin, she placed a hand on her hip and wiggled her brows. “Maybe.
His green eyes widened. “Do you have your own room? I share mine with my brother.”
She feigned surprise. “You do?”
“Uh huh.” He nodded enthusiastically. “Do you have a brother?”
She paused and smiled. “I do. He’s around your age, actually.”
“Really? What’s his name? Does he like Pokemon?”
Artemis chuckled. Kids and their litany of questions, not to mention the constant bouncing back and forth between topics.
“His name is Kalep,” she answered, bending down to tap his nose. “And he loves Pokemon.”
“Awesome,” Bailey smiled, revealing the gap between his two front teeth.
Lana walked over and placed her hand on Artemis shoulder. “Bailey, just when I thought we were gonna be best buds. You switching out on me?”
Bailey grinned. “I like a lot of buddies.”
Lana and Artemis shared an amused look.
“You heard him. Stop being selfish,” Artemis taunted. “Be right back.” She moved down the aisle, answering a few questions here and there.
Artemis then moved onto checking the overhead bins. Rest assured, a couple would be incorrectly shut. As she reached for the third bin that needed to be properly secured, she first glanced down to notice that the passenger was being over, digging in a bag.
As she finished closing it and looked back down, she met striking azure eyes crystallized between black, thick rimmed glasses, and a warm smile.
“Sorry,” he apologized.
She returned his grin. “First time flying?”
“You could say that.” He chuckled. “That obvious?”
“Naw.” She shrugged. “I’m just pretty good at reading people, and you, sir, have the look of someone who’s never been privy to being 30,000 feet in the air. You’re in for a treat.”
“Well, thank you, ma’am—”
“Oh god, please don’t. Artemis, my name is Artemis.”
“Well, it’s nice to meet you, Artemis. I’m Clark. Clark Kent.”
Her grin diminished as a flyer placed his hand on the small of her back, quickly shifting it downward to her ass. He gave a light squeeze before continuing his walk to his seat.
She retained an eye roll and resurfaced her grin, even as Clark’s dimmed.
“Nice meeting you too, Clark.”
“I’m sorry.” She paused, confused. He looked surprised too, only for a second. “The overhead bin,” he quickly added.
“Oh.” She waved her hand. “It’s the least of my problems.”
“I’ll bet,” he murmured.
“Let me know if you need anything—”
“Artemis!” Bailey stood on the seat, leaned over so he was grasping at the passenger in front of him headrest. She looked back at Clark. “Or any of us.”
He nodded. “Will do.”
That was the first time they met.
The second time would be under similar but very different circumstances.
❖❖❖
Artemis was a ready reserve for Lana who was set to fly a special first time joint venture with the air force. Artemis didn’t mind. Lana had a family emergency, and they were friends. That’s what friends are for.
The speaker was a bit of a bitch, but that didn’t bother Artemis. She’d come across so many different types of individuals, some nice, some not so much. It never mattered, though, as long as she got her paycheck.
Everything seemed to be going smoothly. Even with the kids on board. She didn’t quite understand why in the hell they had minors on board, but not many things made sense to her when it came to Metropolis.
She was chatting with one of said kids who was fascinated by her name. Apparently, it was the same as one of his favorite characters from some book series. She prepared to ask which one when everything went dark.
Artemis looked around. She’d been trained to respond to countless scenarios, but this was different. She quickly excused herself and stood up, moving down the aisle to correspond with the other attendants.
She knew something was wrong. Hell, she could feel it. This was something that just oozed of malfunction. That much was obvious. However, she felt all of the young, frightened eyes on her. Even though she was concerned, she refused to show it. She had to remain calm, not incite panic among the kids.
Artemis helped children get strapped in. At one point during the flight, they were all secured and yapping among themselves. Somewhere between the taxi and takeoff, they maneuvered out of their seats and moved about.
However, that plan went to hell at the same time the power went out again, and this time, it didn’t come back on shortly after. No, conditions quickly deteriorated. One minute she was helping the children secure their seatbelts, and the next, she was holding them against her body as the plane began to violently jerk.
In the event of turbulence, there was training. There was training for everything, but the fact that she just knew that this was beyond turbulence didn’t help. Still, she managed to keep her emotions at bay. Better than the other attendants who failed to hide their concern.
They too realized that something had gone terribly wrong.
And it only continued to worsen. Infrequent jerking transitioned into abnormal shifts in directions. The plane was moving about like a rag doll, simultaneously, forcing Artemis around and against various seats, walls, and armrests. She bit back her groans and moans of pain.
Help now.
Feel later.
Screams, shouts, beeping, and all sorts of chaos occurred around her. Still, she remained calm. In the kids, she saw Kalep. What if he were there? She’d want whoever was in charge to help him remain as calm as possible, no matter how grim the outcome appeared.
But, things only exacerbated.
The plane was angled almost entirely upward, and Artemis felt the absolute brunt of the trajectory as she continued to be tossed about the plane. Her shoulder was dislocated and the red liquid coating her fingertips after feeling on her abdomen told her that her injuries were becoming more severe by the minute, second, even.
Still, she couldn’t shake the terrified expressions of the children whose cries only increased in volume and intensity.
Even the adults were becoming choked up.
It was utter madness and chaos beyond comprehension.
For a second, she contemplated the most dire and maybe realistic outcome.
Is this how she would meet her maker? Thousands of feet up in the air, bloodied and battered, completely helpless to do nothing but make everyone as comfortable as she possibly could given the circumstances.
When was the last time she FaceTime’d her family? Purchased Kalep a game off of the Playstation Store?
Hell, she hadn’t seen the inside of her apartment for almost a month.
And now, she never would.
It was all a culmination of feelings and thoughts. Regrets at what could have been. Sadness at what would never be. Anger at the finality of it all.
Death.
And then a thought, if this truly was the end, did it mean the beginning of something else? A reunion she’d longed for for over a decade?
If only she knew it would happen like this.
Her eyes slammed shut as wetness pooled and spilled. Consciousness was a battle she was gradually losing.
But nothing had ever come easy, nothing that she really wanted, anyway.
She would hold on as long as she possibly could, as long as was possible.
And she’d spend the last of her energy making the children as comfortable as she could, even if it was only a fragment of comfort.
Plastered against the back of the plane, Artemis turned to the window. Everything was whipping by with such abnormal speed, red heat and flames of the fire lashing against the side of the plane.
She didn’t even want to imagine what the outside looked like, given the bedlam transpiring inside.
But what did still her was the quick flash of something that came and disappeared in under a second.
It was far too large to be a bird, much smaller than a plane, but the speed at which it moved…… It was almost beyond human comprehension.
I think hallucinations are a sign of pending death.
A macabre thought, but not entirely inappropriate.
Her eyes fluttered moments before her body dropped, moving in an unnatural manner. At that point, she’d managed to block out the searing pain that traveled through her body. What point was there in trying to address something she couldn’t fix?
It was meritless and a waste of time.
And energy.
The ability to remain coherent enough to guesstimate just how much time they had left waned with each struggle to keep her eyes fully open. Even when they were opened, she kept looking toward the children. As if she could will them to meet her gaze. Maybe then she could try to assure them that they were going to be okay.
She took a deep swallow.
That was such a lie, but she’d rather their last minutes be filled with hope, even if it was an empty box.
They didn’t need to know that.
As her body dropped to the ground, she took a sharp breath and managed to flex her fingers. They seemed to be the only thing she could use.
Voices called her name. She briefly recognized them as belonging to the attendants.
She lifted her head and saw black shoes and sheer stockings covering tan skin moving closer.
She moaned. “I’m f—fine.” Something caught up, and Artemis choked up something. She blinked. Red. Blood. “Kids. H—h—help them.”
The walking ceased. “Art—”
“No,” she growled, fisting her hand against the ground. Seconds later, she was shifted again, thrown forward, her head colliding with something hard. She blinked several times. Her vision was good and hazy. Artemis was almost certain that she was seeing duplicates.
The descent was steady this time, downward, and fast.
Every breath felt struggled against the invisible weight of the trauma that suffocated her body. Her fingers flexed and wiggled. If only she could bring her arm into her body.
The chain around her neck, the tiny cross that hung tucked into her blouse. Not that it would do anything to help her, physically.
But the emotional comfort, the connection is reminded her of, it would dim everything.
So she attempted to pull her arm inward, a burning shooting through that immediately ceased all movement.
So much for that.
That was when the tears continued. One could only remain strong for so long.
And just like that, everything stopped.
The movement, at least.
Everything was so still.
Too still.
Was this it? Was this how it was? A noticeable void of everything that being alive represented.
It was……subpar. Far from what she’d always imagined the afterward would be.
Halfway unconscious, Artemis missed the noticeable gasps and harsh whispers that spread through the plane as the door was easily ripped and tossed aside.
The question of if everyone was alright followed by heavy footsteps and a shadowed darkness that covered her back.
Hands moved to her side, gently turning her on her back. She gasped violently, becoming somewhat aware of her surroundings.
Eyes. Warm yet cool eyes bore into hers. However, her involuntary reaction was to fight. She struggled, mustering as much strength as she could, attempting to push the person away.
Then she heard it, the quiet whisper of her name.
“Artemis.” She stilled and tried to focus her vision. Everything was just so foggy. “It’s alright.” Artemis continued to moan and groan, determined to fight, so he continued to reassure that it was fine.
But, it wasn’t.
She was dead.
……Wasn’t she?
Artemis calmed herself down enough to stop moving. The stranger took that moment to speak again.
“You’re hemorrhaging internally, and If I don’t cauterize this bleed…..” He trailed off. If Artemis was in the right frame of mind, she would have cursed him. That certainly wasn’t the extent of her injuries. She didn’t like being lied to.
Her brows furrowed. How. Who. What.
All unasked questions he somehow detected.
“I can do things that other people can’t.” She shut her eyes and gasped. If breathing was difficult now, it was unbearable now. “Hold my hand.” He didn’t wait for her to respond, placing his over hers. She calmed down, ever so slightly. “This is gonna hurt.”
It wasn’t as though she was any position to speak, and even if she did, the scream that left her mouth seconds later spoke volumes more than any word could.
To her credit, the pain only lasted for a few moments, having lost the battle to consciousness.
❖❖❖
Hospitals sucked.
Of that, Artemis was 10000% sure of, to the point where she was prepared to defend it to the very end.
Every wall, floor, building, everything about it reeked of death. If not for you, for someone you knew.
Rarely anything good came from visiting one, let alone being admitted. Sadly, that was the case for her.
She’d been stuck at Metro General for over a week, and each day brought her that much closer to seeing if she could make a break for it.
Even though, deep down, she knew that was ridiculous.
She’d been significantly injured. Artemis lost count of how many times she was told that she was lucky to be alive.
More than she’d like to count.
Really, the fact that there were no other fatalities was enough for her. Sure, there were injuries, but nothing as severe as hers. From her knowledge, she was the only one still being held hostage.
And even if the hospital itself wasn’t bad enough, the damn people were just as bad.
Maybe not the doctors and nurses, and the staff. She admired them.
No, the damn people who visited her every hour on the hour, she felt like.
Lana had been at her beside from the moment she was rushed into the OR.
Guilt, she figured.
Artemis focused her gaze on the vase of flowers on the side of the bed. They were different from the one’s she received just this morning. However, the change wasn’t what circulated her mind.
No, it was the reason she was still alive.
Him. Her rescuer. She barely remembered what occurred, but she distinctly recalled his eyes, the way he looked at her, her name on his mouth.
Who was he? What was he?
She’d first thought she’d been dreaming. How could another person do what he’d done?
Flew up into the sky and separated a damn shuttle from a plane, stopped the plane from crashing, cauterized her wound, flew her to the hospital, and who knew what else.It was all too unreal, impossible to be reality.
But everyone else had saw him.
And Artemis heard him.
Whoever, whatever, he was, he knew her name.
And he’d saved her.
She was alive because of him.
For that…..she was beyond thankful. Still very much confused, but thankful.
Unfortunately, the world was also confused, and as the only person to have such direct contact with him, she was highly sought out.
Not to mention, everyone was praising her for being so “heroic.” Whatever that meant.
Reaching over the bed, she grabbed the card and flipped it over to see two letters followed by periods. Initials.
C.K.
Artemis frowned. Who?
A knock on the door pulled her from her thoughts. She prepared to give the same scripted reply to the nurse on duty. She then paused as she was met with the same warm smile she’d first encountered a few weeks ago.
She leaned back against the pillows and paused. “Hi.”
“Hi.” He stood in the doorway. “Is it alright—”
“Oh, yeah,” she waved him in, sitting up as much as she could. Her eyes then fell on the bouquet in his right hand. “Please tell me those aren’t for me.”
He squinted. “What happens if I say yes?”
“Add em’ to the rest,” she sighed and smiled. “Thank you. They’re beautiful. I just don’t know if I’m going to have any room in my apartment if I receive anymore.” He handed them to her. She sniffed and closed her eyes. Lillies. Her favorites.
“Clark, right?”
He nodded. “Yeah.” She leaned and placed them on the remaining free space oo her side table. They were smaller than some of the others, but she wanted them to be the closest to her.
“I’d ask you how you’re doing but—”
“I’m sick of hearing that question,” she finished for him with a small smile. “How did you—you’re a reporter.” The bag on his shoulder, the almost embarrassed expression when she said it, it was obvious.
She prepared to send him away as she did the rest, but there was something different about him. Something genuine.
Artemis was willing to give him something. Not much.
“Look, all I know is that I owe him my life. Me and everyone else on that plane. I don’t know anything else.”
Clark crossed his arms. “I’m sorry?”
“That’s what you’re here for, right? The mystery hero?”
“Not my story.” He smiled and adjusted his glasses. “I’m actually here for you.”
She stilled. “Oh.” Well, that was unexpected.
“I work for the Daily Planet. We’d like to do a story on you. The mystery hero wasn’t the only one who saved lives. They say a lot of those kids are alive because of you.”
She shrugged. “I just did what anyone else would have done.”
“Not everyone.” He frowned.
Artemis picked at the hospital bedding. “You have any siblings, Clark?” He shook his head. “I do. Two. My brother’s name is Kalep. He’s ten. The sweetest and most annoying kid ever.” She smiled softly, remembering his big brown eyes in the FaceTime camera as Artemis reassured her father that he didn’t need to fly down.
Unnecessary money.
“Did you know that the youngest kid on that flight was eight?” She didn’t wait for an answer. “Eight-years old. Hell, you haven’t even started to live when you’re eight. I can’t imagine it all ending so soon. I’ve seen enough of this world. I would have been okay. No matter what happened.” She looked out the window and licked her lips before looking back at him. “I wouldn’t change anything I did. Not a damn thing.”
Clark said nothing, chuckling softly. “Maybe I was wrong. Maybe I am doing the story on the hero.” A beat. “But she’s not a mystery.”
Artemis caught his gaze. There was something both familiar and comforting about him. She couldn’t place her finger on it, though.
“Okay, they sure do know who to send to get a story.” She shifted again. These beds were so damn uncomfortable. “I do hope they find him, though. He deserves it. I won’t even bitch if they throw him a parade or some shit. It’s well deserved.”
They both laughed as Artemis looked down, nodding slowly. “I just want to thank him, you know.”
“You’re not scared?”
“Of him?” She laughed. “No. Why would I be?”
“I mean, a guy who can fly. You don’t see them everyday.”
“There are a lot of things to be scared of in this world, Clark.” A beat. “He’s not one of them.”
❖❖❖
Artemis had never been so grateful to be home.
It was one thing to be away because of work. It was another to be away because she was physically unable to be home.
Thankfully, she’d been cleared and discharged. That was a few days ago, but each moment was more than appreciated.
She’d dusted, rearranged, hell, even cooked more than she had in all the time she’d been in Metropolis. Even whilst ambling around in a boot on her right leg.
Near death experiences tend to have that effect.
Not one for much television, she’d even started to rewatch One Tree Hill and was halfway through Homecoming. However, too much time in front of the screen triggered headaches, so she decided to switch out programming for a book on her wall of books.
She had so many that she’d purchased, started, yet never finished.
One of her new resolutions was to change that.
She loved to read.
It was one of the many fond memories she had. Being read to as she lay in bed, forcing herself just to stay up because no one told stories in such distinct voices as her.
Artemis settled on The Chaos of Standing Still. She noticed a bookmark toward the beginning and pulled it out. She could barely remember the plot, let alone the little that she’d read.
She scratched at her hair and made a mental note to order the bonnets that were waiting in her Amazon cart.
Ooh, she also needed to pay her cell phone bill. Maybe automatic payments weren’t so bad, because if she garnered one more goddamn late fee—
Artemis turned around and nearly fell flat on her ass. Thankfully, the book took one for the team, stumbling on her carpet. The bookmark laid next to it.
Across her room, close to the backdoor that led to the small balcony, he stood, cape lightly flowing behind him. The lighting was dimmed, but even with the lack of illumination, he stood out in the darkness. Representative of who he was, whoever that was.
“Umm, hi,” she blurted, placing her hand on her forehead. “How did you—” Her eyes shifted to the backdoor. “Never mind. Stupid question.” She got the feeling that whether she welcomed him in or not, it made little to no difference.
“Hi.” She waited for more. Nothing else came.
“Can I—get you something to drink?” She asked. “Do you even drink?” Artemis wanted to slap herself. What the hell was wrong with her? Since when did she get so easily flustered?
Maybe that was another side effect of almost dying.
“I do.” He smiled and stepped forward. She remained where she was. “But, I’m okay. Thank you.”
“Okay,” she murmured. “How—why—what are you doing here?”
“I read the interview you gave.”
“You read?” She blurted.
He shrugged. “In my free time.”
“Thank you.” She cleared her throat. “For—for saving me, and everyone else.”
He lifted his a hand. “Don’t. You never have to thank me for that. No one does.”
She tilted her head. “What are you?” She continued. “I mean, you’re not human. I dated my high school’s quarterback, and we were all impressed by his ability to push his truck. Yet, you’re out here lifting planes?” She hadn’t meant to babble. It wasn’t in her nature, but she was so damn intrigued. Not to mention, everyone had been searching for the man who stood a few feet away from her, only for him to find her.
“What I am isn’t important. It’s what I do….that’s what matters.”
“What exactly is it that you do? Save people? There are occupations for that.”
He chuckled. “I think we both know it’s a little more complicated than that.”
“Touche,” she whispered and danced her fingers against her legs. Artemis looked him over. He was solid, muscles rippling against the formfitting material of his….uniform? Costume seemed inappropriate. Costumes were for people who feigned what he really was. A hero. “What’s the S stand for?”
He looked down and then back up. “It’s not an S. On my world, it means hope.”
She bit on her bottom lip. Artemis wanted to ask him where exactly his world was, but she had a feeling he wouldn’t answer. “Well, here, it’s just an S.”
He chuckled. “Noted.”
Her next question was instant. “What’s your name?” He stared at her. Artemis kept his gaze, willing herself to affirm her assertiveness. She was never one to shy away, to back down, to retreat. That couldn’t change. Not even for him. “You know mine.”
His gaze softened, something that didn’t bypass Artemis.
“It’s Kal.”
“Kal,” she repeated, accentuating each letter, despite the shortness. Artemis smiled. “My little brother’s name is Kalep.” She cleared her throat. “So am I your first or last stop?”
He tilted his head. “I’m sorry?”
“You know, on your grand entrance to the world.”
He offered a small smile. “No. What I do….who I am….it’s not of importance.” A beat. “I’m not yet ready to reveal myself to the world.”
She quieted. “But you did with me, and I’m nobody special.”
“I wouldn’t say that. To those kids you saved, the ones you risked your life for, you’re the hero.”
She straightened one arm and grabbed her elbow, shrugging. “The cape takes the cake. Kids are fickle like that. Besides, I just did what was right. No need to make a big thing out of it.”
He nodded slowly, stepping forward. Artemis inhaled subtly. He was so big. “And that’s why I’ve told you….and only you.”
His voice lowered toward the end of his sentence as his gaze focused on her, meeting her eyes. At that moment, she understood. She didn’t know why or how, but he trusted her. Kal trusted her.
“Got it.” A beat. “Okay, I just have to ask. Is this like a disguise? I mean, your….skin….” His eyes crinkled in amusement, tiny lines forming. “You’re not really….like green or something, are you?”
“No, I’m not.”
“Okay, good, cause then that would be really….weird.”
His smile deepened. “You have a good night, Artemis.”
She chewed her bottom lip. “You too, Kal.”
He nodded and prepared to leave.
“Hey, Kal.” He turned to face her, eyebrows lifted. “I—uh—I’m out of work for a while. Recovery and all. So, um, if you ever want. I mean, if you’re ever around.” She pushed her lips together and pushed a hand over her curls. “I’m just here.”
He said nothing, just a smile, and a second later, he was gone.

It’s finally finished so have some HLVRAI Pokémon Mystery Dungeon AU Information!
GORDON-
- The Second Human Turned People Case, though he thinks he’s the first
- Cubone
- Moves: Headbutt, Bonemerange, Fire Punch, Endure
- Ability: Battle Armor
- Apart of Team Sunrise, Partnered with Tommy
- Has no memory other than his name and the fact that he used to be human
- Was first found by Tommy, unconscious on the Beach
- Intially creates an Exploration Team with Tommy to both make Tommy happy since it’s his dream and to search for clues as to why he’s suddenly a Pokémon and how to change back
- However, Gordon ends up liking being in an Exploration Team since a part of the job is about helping others. Gordon’s natural protective nature means he fits the job like a glove
- Trying to find a reason to why he’s not Human anymore but Gordon’s starting to wonder... Does he even want to go back? He likes being in an Exploration Team with Tommy- is there anything for him if he returns to the Human World?
- Was trying to keep his whole ‘Human Turned Pokémon’ thing a secret from the general public but somehow, word gets out
- Doesn’t want to drag Tommy into it when people start searching for Gordon but Tommy won’t leave his side, no matter how hard he tries
TOMMY-
- Gordon’s Exploration Partner (And Just Might Play A Very Important Role In Saving The World)
- Pikachu
- Moves: Thunderbolt, Grass Knot, Agility, Swift
- Ability: Static
- Apart of Team Sunrise, Partnered With Gordon
- Has wanted to be in an Exploration Team since he was a Pichu. His adoptive mother is a retired Explorer who often told him bedtime stories about her adventures, inspiring him
- Now has his own place but keeps in touch with his mom. They’re pretty close
- Was also childhood friends with both Darnold and Benrey. Tommy and Darnold keep in touch while Tommy lost contact with Benrey after he suddenly disappeared- Tommy hasn’t seen him in years... Until now!
- Found Gordon unconscious on the Beach and instantly took him in, letting him stay in his spare room. Given Gordon has nowhere else to go, they’re now roommates!
- Loves being able to travel to new places and seeing all the beautiful places around the world as an Explorer
- Admires Team Wildfire a lot
- Promises to keep Gordon safe and help him figure out who he is and what happened. Will not break this promise, no matter what
BENREY-
- Not What He Seems...
- “Totodile” (Shiny Ditto who’s Very Good at Transforming)
- Moves (As Totodile): Surf, Ice Beam, Crunch, Shadow Claw
- Ability (As Totodile): Sheer Force
- Has no Defensive or Status Moves
- Not apart of any Exploration Team but hangs around Team Sunrise a lot
- Was childhood friends with Tommy (And aquatinted with Darnold)
- Was employed to someone he doesn’t like talk about for a good chunk of his life. Benrey doesn’t talk about what he was employed for either, but it might have something to do with his ability to transform very convincingly...
- Was acquainted with Forzen, though Forzen wouldn’t recognize him in his Totodile form
- Has a lot of secrets. Benrey’s not proud of who he used to be
- A lot more powerful than he looks
- Very few know that Benrey is actually a Ditto given he stays transformed so often. Even fewer can recognize him once he’s transformed
- Almost always on edge, no matter how well he hides it. There’s a high bounty on the head of one of his forms so he has to keep his head down, hiding as a Totodile
- Joins Team Sunrise on a lot of missions despite not being officially apart of the group
- Knows Gordon’s secret and is determined to keep him safe, at all costs
COOMER-
- A Very Experienced Explorer
- Breloom
- Moves: Seed Bomb, Brick Break, Dynamic Punch, Sword Dance
- Ability: Effect Spore
- Apart of Team Wildfire, Partnered with Bubby
- Has a big family and a lot of siblings though isn’t very close with them. Feels like he has to compete with his siblings just to stand out and not feel like a clone
- Was previously in an Explorer Team called Team Belladonna with his Ex, however they broke up and he stopped exploring a couple months before he met Bubby
- Found Bubby unconscious on a Mountain and his Explorer instincts kicked in, quickly helping him and having Bubby stay with him while he recovered
- Originally Bubby was only meant to stay until he recovered his memory but it ended up becoming a more permanent arrangement later
- Formed an Exploration Team both to help Bubby search for answers and because Coomer missed it as it was a big part of his life
- Has been Partnered with Bubby for years now. Would do anything to keep his secret safe
- Anything.
BUBBY-
- The First Human Turned Pokemon
- Charmeleon
- Moves: Flamethrower, Slash, Thunder Punch, Dragon Claw
- Ability: Blaze
- Has no defensive or status moves
- Apart of Team Wildfire, Partnered with Coomer
- Wears Wise Glasses both as a boost to his special attack but also because he has terrible eyesight without them
- Like Gordon, he has little memory other than his name and the fact that he used to be Human
- Bubby keeps the fact that he used to be Human under heavy lock and key. The only other person he told was Coomer, otherwise, Bubby is pretty distrusting towards others
- Initially became an Explorer with Coomer because of his determination to figure out why he’s a Pokémon but stayed because he genuinely enjoyed the work
- Despite his initial drive to figure out how to become Human again, Bubby no longer pursues this. He likes his life with Coomer, he doesn’t want it to change
- Would do anything to keep Coomer safe
- A n y t h i n g
DARNOLD-
- Inventor Extraordinaire
- Bayleef
- Moves: Magic Leaf, Solar Beam, Protect, Sweet Scent

- Original creator of the Orbs, namely the Escape Orb and the Slumber Orb, both of which he uses to get through tough dungeons
- Still makes items and machines as well but Darnold’s true pride and joy is a drink shop called ‘New Leaf’ with a new menu every day. Darnold takes great pride in his juices and smoothies that he makes
- Likes to talk to one of his regulars at New Leaf, a Bounty Hunter who has plenty of interesting stories and is overall fun to talk to
- Recently got employed by someone who gives him a weird vibe. Darnold doesn’t know what it is but all they want is for him to make a machine that can open portals and... Well, it sounds interesting and harmless enough?
- Isn’t much of a fighter but will if he has to
FORZEN-
- A Bounty Hunter who’s very good at his job
- Mightyena
- Moveset: Ice Fang, Take Down, Sucker Punch, Swagger
- Ability: Intimidate
- All moves can be learned by leveling up, the only character to have this
- Is a Bounty Hunter, meaning he specifically goes after Wanted Pokemon for a living
- Took up Bounty Hunting as it runs in the family. Is not close with his family anymore
- Very good at his job, one of the best trackers out there and very rarely doesn’t complete the job he takes
- Used to be aquatinted with Benrey though wouldn’t recognize his Totodile form
- Truthfully has no idea what happened to Benrey but one day, he disappeared and a huge bounty was placed on his head. Forzen took the job, no hard feelings but it was a lot of money, but was never able to find him, one of his few jobs
- Often visits a drink place called New Leaf, both for the delicious drinks and to talk to the Bayleef that runs it
- Recently took up a job to track down a Human Turned Pokemon. Has no idea what they’re wanted for but the bounty is too big to pass up- every Bounty Hunter he knows is taking it
JOSHUA-
- The Kid Who Tends To Inspire Those Around Him
- Sewaddle
- Moves: Tackle, String Shot, Bug Bite, Hidden Power
- Ability: Chlorophyll
- Is an Orphan who lost track of his family and got lost for quite a long time before being rescued
- Is initially found by Benrey and sent to Tommy and Gordon, who takes him in and take care of him while they search for his family
- Benrey, Gordon, and Tommy all take on a parental role for him, though a lot of the people he meets tends to instantly shift into, “I would die for this kid” mode
- Thinks Exploration Teams are the coolest
- Greatly admires Team Sunrise, Team Wildfire, and Benrey, sometimes trying to imitate them
- A little easily frightened at first but his confidence gets built up once he’s taken in by Tommy and Gordon. Turns out to be pretty enthusiastic once he comes out of his shell
G-MAN-
- The Legendary
- Mewtwo
- Moves: ???
- Ability: Unnerve
- Has his own agenda but generally tries to help others and keeps the World’s balance in check
- Not much is known about him, least of all why he goes by ‘G-Man’ of all things. He keeps to himself
- Seems to watch over a certain Pikachu, sensing great things from him...
- Is very interested in finding out how a Human turns Pokémon
- Knows more than he says
SUNKIST-
- Ex-Explorer and Adoptive Mother of Tommy
- Arcanine
- Moves: Extreme Speed, Flare Blitz, Body Slam, Roar
- Ability: Flash Fire
- Full name is Sun Kissed but Sunkist is a shortening of it that she likes
- Is a retired Explorer and pretty highly respected and well known. Was apart of a Explorer Team known as Team Daylight
- Tommy was left at her doorstep a half a year after she retired. Sunkist worked to find his family, and when she couldn’t, raised him as her own
- While she’s a little out of practice, Sunkist is still very powerful
- Tough as nails but has a soft heart
- Can and would move mountains for Tommy
???-
- The Main Antagonist
- ???
- Moves: Psychic, Water Pulse, Blizzard, Drain Punch
- Ability: Own Tempo
- No status or defensive moves
- Highly powerful and has a bad vibe to her
- A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing
- Employed Benrey, Darnold, and sometimes Forzen
- Seems to have her own agenda
- Is very interested in finding a Human Turned Pokemon and is willing to do anything to get her hands on one
- Knows Benrey very, very well
- And doesn’t let go so e a s i l y
Anddd there we go! Took a hot minute but I got it all down! Feel free to ask me about anything if you got questions!

A Wander Through the Weald
(Heyo! I’ve wanted to write a Postwickshipping fic for awhile now, so I hope you like it! <3)
It had been one month since Gloria defeated the “Unbeatable Champion” Leon. The greatest champion Galar ever seen had been dethroned Sometimes Gloria couldn't believe it herself. It seemed like just yesterday that he had given her and his younger brother, Hop, a Pokemon in Postwick. Gloria remembered the journey alongside her next-door rival fondly, challenging each other and exploring the region.
While she relished in her victory in the semifinals, part of her heart ached when she remembered Hop’s face. He appeared to take the loss in stride, yet she couldn't help but notice the sorrow in his eyes. He did end up somewhat confiding in her about his new sense of misdirection in a battle of all things. However, he did find a new path after aiding in the Dynamax crisis; Sonia offered for him to study and help her in the Pokemon Lab, which he accepted. Gloria was happy for her friend, and was eager to see what discoveries he might make.
The new Champion hadn’t seen her friend in weeks, and was missing him quite a bit. So she decided to drop in for a visit one warm, spring day.
-
“Hop! You have a visitor!”
The boy looked up from his desk. He had a textbook open and was in the middle of jotting something down. He placed down his pencil and turned around to see Gloria enter his room with a bright smile.
“Gloria!” Hop’s own face lit up as he rose and hugged her. “It’s so great to see you!”
“Likewise!” The two let go. “I haven’t seen you in forever, so I thought I’d pay you a little visit.”
“Heh, you’re right, guess you’re busy with all your fancy champion business,” he teased.
“Well, it’s more like I’ve been training to take on the battle tower for the last few weeks, if that’s what you mean.”
“Oh yeah! I remember you telling me about that. You recon you’re almost ready?”
“I think so. Gotta smooth the edges a bit with my team, but I’m pretty sure we’re nearly set.”
“Sweet! Well, I wish you luck!” He smiled.
“Thanks, mate. So, since I’m not doing anything today, do you think I could pull you away from your studies for a couple hours and go for a walk maybe?”
“Oh, uh, I’d really like to, but I kinda still have some work left-”
“Don’t worry about it Hop, you’ve been working pretty hard and I think you deserve a break,” Sonia chimed in, grabbing a notebook from a shelf.
“Er- Really? Awesome, thanks!”
“Hehe, well then, it’s a date!” Gloria said cheerfully.
Hop’s heart briefly skipped a beat when she said that, and a brief blush spread across his face. He caught Sonia giving him a brief smirk before heading upstairs.
“So, you ready?”
“Y-Yeah! Totally, let’s go!” He stuttered a bit, resisting the urge to facepalm.
The two headed South from the lab, walking down Route 1. The sun shone gently along the grass and leaves, which rustled from an occasional skittering Skwovet or fluttering Rookidee. There were scattered clouds in the sky, casting long, misshapen shadows across the distant rolling hills. Wooloo were peacefully grazing or sleeping in the surrounding pens, and the two made a game of trying to count them all. As they approached Postwick, Hop began to explain what sort of things he and Sonia were studying; the key differences between Dynamax and Gigantimax, what causes a Pokemon to change form during the latter, etc. They had formed a theory that it may be related to Mega Evolution in the Kalos region. He was about to go into the genetic specifics that he knew of, when they realized they reached the gate in front of Gloria’s house.
“Ah, seems we have reached the entrance to thy Slumbering Weald,” Gloria commented poshly, to which Hop giggled. “If you think about it, our journey kinda started here, didn’t it?”
“Yeah, you’re right; remember when we saw Zacian for the first time? And you tried to fight it?”
“I do! And we were knocked out for like, ten minutes. Imagine if your brother found us like that!” She laughed.
He laughed too, yet remembered how close his face was to hers when he awoke, and could feel a pink tint return to his face again.
“So… What do you say we take a stroll through the woods again? For old times sake?” Gloria suggested.
“Sure, fine with me.”
With that, she swung open the gate and proceeded through. She then skipped on ahead of Hop, then turned back to him near the entrance, looking at him with that familiar, glowing smile.
He wished he could tell her how wonderful that smile made him feel.
“Gloria, wait up!” He stopped a moment. “Woah, where did all the fog go?”
“I guess it lifted? It does feel weird being able to see farther than five feet in here.”
To their surprise, the thick fog that normally enveloped the Slumbering Weald had disappeared a fair amount. There was still a thin layer on the ground and rolling along the tiny hills, but it allowed the sun to shine through the leaves and reflected across the dew hanging on the foliage.
“Cmon, lets see what sort of things we can spot here now that it’s clear,” Gloria piped in.
“Hey, I bet I can find more cool things that you,” He challenged with a smirk.
“Oh, you think so? How ‘bout we see then?”
The two rivals proceeded to wander about the Weald, pointing out weirdly crooked trees, large rocks that jutted out of the ground, oddly-colored plants and berries, the like. While having fun with their little expedition, Hop found his eyes on Gloria several times. He saw how face eyes lit up as she found a pretty leaf, or how she laughed as she poked a cluster of funny-looking mushrooms. He noticed how her eyes marveled in wonder as she looked inside a split tree or turned over a rock. Seeing her having fun and exploring the world around her brought a genuine smile to his face. The sun beaming onto her pale complexion also happened to complement her face wonderfully, and he couldn’t help but stare...
“Yo! Earth to Hop!”
The boy snapped out of his trance with a dumbfounded look. She rolled her eyes slightly before walking up to him.
“I wanted you to see this rock I found,” she presented a stone about the size of her palm; it has a typically craggy surface, but upon her turning it around, showed an almost rainbow-colored crystallization inside.
“Wow, that’s one heck of a geode there!” He exclaimed, admiring the hues.
“You got anything else cool yet?”
“Uhh, yeah,” Hop quickly scanned over his shoulder and dove for the nearest thing to him.
“Check out this leaf!” He brought a decaying, frail leaf to her face, and in the process half of it flaked off. The ensuing silence felt like a jab in the gut.
Gloria’s face scrunched a bit and she giggled. “You’re such a dork, you know that?” She said as she lightly hit him on the arm. “C’mon, if I’m right, I think we’re pretty close to the center of the Weald.” She turned and proceeded down the shady path.
Hop processed that moment for a second before following- caught between the fluttery feeling of hearing her laugh and mentally kicking himself for his stupidity.
After turning the bend on the faded path, he was pleasantly reminded of the splendid beauty of the hero’s shrine. The ancient structure stood in front of a still lake, only occasionally rippling gently when a wild Pokemon would take a drink. The sunbeams swayed through the leaves, rustling ever so slightly.
“You know, no matter how many times I come here, I don’t think I’ll ever get over how beautiful this place is,” Gloria stepped onto the shrine, looking over the lake.
As much as he agreed with her, Hop found himself more entranced with the girl in front of him. Her body looked illuminated against the lake, almost as if she was a legendary herself. The boy was speechless at her hauntingly ethereal appearance, yet wanted nothing more than to tell her how absolutely, stunningly gorgeous she was.
“Hey, how about we sit for awhile?” She sat down on the side of the shrine facing the lake, hunching over a bit to look into the depths of the lake.
He snapped out of his daze once again, following her and sitting next to her. He saw how the water reflected on her hazel eyes, creating a blueish projection onto her pupils.
“Hop, is there something on your mind?” She asked bluntly. “You’ve been rather tense all afternoon.”
“Have I?” He would usually deflect with an “I’m fine”, but something felt different. He felt like this was the moment to tell her. He felt like he could tell her.
“Well, there is something I’ve been thinking about,” he began. “I know you’ve heard this from me a million times, but all my life I’ve wanted to prove I could live up to my brother, that I could be something more than him. Even after I became a trainer for real, everyone always saw me as Leon’s younger brother, the kid who aimed to beat the unbeatable champion.”
He sighed, and turned his face to hers. “But you always saw me as me. Not the champion’s little brother, not just another rival, but as me. As Hop.”
She gave him an endearing smile. “Hop, you’re one of the most fun-loving, caring, zestful people I’ve ever met. You never let anything stop you, and you greet challenge and adversary with a smile. Even when things are looking down, you don’t give up and you keep going. I’ve admired that about you for as long as I’ve known you, how could I not?”
“Heh. For the longest time, I was wondering how anyone ever could.” He admitted with a slightly sorrowful tone. “What I’m trying to get at Gloria, is… Well, I won’t lie; You’re one of the best things that has ever happened to me.”
Gloria stared at him in shock. Hop just fixed his sight into the water, afraid to meet her gaze.
“Hop, I… I don’t know what to say, I’m…” A bit impulsively, she leaned against him, causing the boy to tense a bit.
“You know, our journey across Galar, I have a lot of fond memories of it. From meeting so many amazing people, learning things about Pokemon I never would have guessed, to building and training my team, I wouldn’t trade it for the world. That journey helped me see who I am and what I want. But, thing is, you were one of my favorite parts of it too. We always helped each other, and you wouldn’t turn your back on me no matter what. You were always so excited to hurry to the next town or challenge me to a battle. You made it all so much fun. And because of that, I’d say you’re one of the best things to happen to me too.”
Hop couldn’t quite describe the feeling in his chest. It was a mix of disbelief, anxiety, wonder- but mostly pure joy. He didn’t say anything, rather just wrapped his arms around her and held her close. She returned the embrace, and sighed contentedly against his shoulder. He placed his head atop hers, nudging her green hat a bit and nestling into the scent of her soft, brunette hair.
The two remained at the shrine until the moonlight glistened across the lake, neither wanting the moment to end.

Team Suit Info:
(Due to me not knowing when to quit. I decided to go into more detail about team suit. From how the Team works, there grunts, there motives, and much more. If you have any questions don’t be scared to ask and I’ll answer them when I can. Now on with the info dump.)
There History: The history of team suit starts off with second boss, Ruby’s side of things. She comes from a family that made there living from making playing cards for casinos, and other places that needed them. Soon there family started making custom poker chips, and dice when there business was starting to grow at a fast rate. It mostly had to do with how well the cards where made, were no one could copy them, as well as how nice the chips came in from each casino that worked with them. Then Ruby was born and was the second generation of her family. She picked up how gambling worked at as a whole and soon started to see the desire people had for it. The rush, the feeling of winning no matter what the prize might be, and well as risk one takes to try to win it big. The one who showed her to be herself with gambling was her husband, Richard. This caused her to finally go with the plan to make Team Suit, but felt it was only right that her husband should run it, since it wouldn’t have been made with out him. During this time she only had her son, Dante who was only a toddler. Now the married couple runs many casinos from buying them out from past owners, and even there grunts will work in some of the casinos. Both to try to get more chips from there bosses, and to make sure no one tries to cheat. It seems that the family has a endless amount of money because of how they manage things. So if you try to gamble with anyone in the family, then I wish you luck, since that will be a endless battle, that no one man, woman or person can do. Grunts:
Bunny Girls: Woman who join have to have enough of a high gambling count from one of the casinos owned by the family, as well as kept that amount for more then a months time. Rewards for being a bunny girl/grunt: If you don’t like the outfit, then you can wear things to be comfortable in. Don’t like heels? Then shoes are more then fine. Don’t like the outfit? Then know they can wear a jacket or shorts/shirts with them. Not only that, but battling, promoting future games, and catching people who are cheating will give them more chips. Last reward is that if anyone is too handy on them, then the bunny girl in question has the right to beat that person out of the casino, and band them. That also goes for any male grunts or other bunny girls that try to abuse there power. Dealers: Men who join that have enough of a high gambling count from the casinos owned by the family, as well as kept that amount for more then a months time. Reward for being a Dealer: Same deal don’t like the outfit, but the guys are limited on what they can change or not change. For one they can only wear black, red, or white suits, any other color will go lower there pay for the day. They have a image to keep after all. Next they can only chance there footwear to the three colors listed above. As well as only change them to normal shoes. Now for there rewards. They are allowed to be well dealers. They hold the cards, dice, and spin the ball for the casinos. For catching cheaters or card counters they get a raise every time. They only thing they can not do is cheat someone out of money to stop there winning streak. If they do this, then they will be punished for this by the family cutting more then half there pay, and a warning to not do that again or else they get kicked out. Team Suit’s Goals and Plans: Short answer, Money. Long answer? To keep gambling alive to control people’s needs and desires. With gambling they can control other people who comes into there casino, and keep those people around with the false hope of those said people thinking they can win there money back or getting more. It’s a endless cycle, that both the leader and second in command enjoy to see. It’s also believed that they do other things to get money from other people, but it has yet to be proven. So as of right now they are just a Team that runs casinos, and do anything they can to get grunts with this tactic of gambling or just to keep there ideals alive. Do They Work With Other Teams?: No. Reasons as to why has to do with the fact, that they do not like how the other teams run things. One Team wanted to make another universe, when the one they have is fine, another wanted to separate humanity from Pokémon, which they do not believe in, since there views on pokemon and humans should be that they should live together, and benefit from one another. Lastly other teams that work on the idea of money they really do not like, because it’s for simple things such as power for themself or to have it. To them they see it as not clear or even a good reason to want it. Team Suit might go for the goal of money as well, but they know that with out the people who go to there casino they are nothing. And acknowledge that fully. What Happens To Those Who Ask For Loans At The Casino?: If you ask for a loan then you might have asked the owners or there right hand. They don’t see the point in increased interest, and only believe in giving them there money they gave away to be payed on time. Pay them in a weeks or months time depending on how much you asked for, and that will be in he end of it. What Happens When You Are In Debt?: If you can’t pay them back, then you will have to work for them doing odd jobs. Being just civilians who are in the casinos to try to catch those cheating, stealing chips, or trying to make fake copies of card to cheat with. Depending on your debt you will pay it off easily, but if you ran dried of money, then you will be working for them for a very long time, until a big job comes into there lap. Why Are Those In Debt Are Civilians When They Are Doing What The Grunts Do For Work? Because those trying to cheat or steal will not think a civilian is keeping taps on them. There focus would be on the dealer or bunny girls. Not some random strangers far away from the person in question’s table. Team Suit also uses civilians as extra back up. Example: Let’s say they are trying to capture someone. Then depending on the area, then every one in dept can try to capture the said person easier. There reward for what the leaders asks of them is making there debt disappear with jobs like this. So you know everyone will do there jobs right to get there lives back on track. So if you get on there bad side know. that there grunts are not the only thing you have to worry about.

❀❀ a list of lines from every single work-in-progress to be linked later when i actually post them just bc i’m bored ❀❀
ashton irwin
And I get that it may seem obviously to other people, but... I’m not watching this on TV and you’re not here and I don’t know what people are saying about me being my back
If she’s not back by sunset, I’m leaving camp to look for her. And if something happened to her, you’re dead
I don’t care about what everyone else will say -- I care about you and your safety, so you can either stay with me at my place until everything with him is sorted out or I can sleep on your couch, but I am not leaving you alone
She deserves better than that, Ashton! She deserves better than you!
I’m a burden on everybody! That’s why I’m here -- that’s why they threw me in a mental hospital and left!
Nothing ever means anything to you anyway
She’s still my ex! Just because she ‘needed help’ doesn’t make it less weird!
Remember how you said if I needed anything, you’d do it...? C-Can I just have a hug?
You fucking heard me. Stop the fucking car
I’m not dating your ex. I asked her out if that’s what you mean
Maybe you could argue that ‘just friends’ do that too, but it’s not ‘just friends’ when Ashton does it for you
I just... I can’t...handle losing someone right after I almost lost you
Are you tall enough to ride the merry-go-round at the fair by yourself?
I’m all for taking credit for my work, but I’m not taking credit for this because 1) I didn’t do it, and 2) it’s sloppy as hell
She clearly needs someone right now and unfortunately for me, she chose you
I’ve heard your friends talking... I know no one thinks he’s still alive
I may be desperate for money, but I’m not selling my body for some rich, entitled frat guys to jack off to!
If you want to be embarrassed, that’s fine, but I’m not going to stand here and listen to you berate yourself like this
Those spirits at the prison we investigated a couple weeks ago really liked you
awsten knight
What could possibly be so hard for her?! She’s a Princess, for Christ’s sake!
Can’t imagine keeping everything bottled up is any easier than letting someone in
calum hood
I know you don’t like her, but telling her she’s not allowed to hug me around you is fucking ridiculous
Do you make it a habit to spy on people or am I just today’s lucky winner?
You can’t lie just to get me there -- I would have gone anyway
I’m not lying to Calum; I’m just not telling him how I feel
You know how you said I should be falling in love instead of living in that house...? I’m glad it’s gonna be with you
How am I meant to have fun with him around?
You wouldn’t do the things you do if you really loved me
When you’re not here, it’s easier to pretend you still love me
I have a question -- why is that guy looking at his corn dog like that?
Please don’t make me say it again -- the first time was embarrassing enough
If he knew he was going to meet you, he never would have told her those things
I can guarantee you that baby’s not his
I never stopped wanting you either
He wouldn’t have dumped me if he was still in love with me
If you were getting tired of me, you could have just said so
Always knew I’d cry if I met you guys -- just didn’t think this would be the reason
I can’t just not pay you for watching my dog for 5 months
Will you at least let me know what it’s like to kiss you?
Do you know how weird it is to have feelings for your boss?
If they want nothing to do with you, then I want nothing to do with them
Secrets don’t stay that way forever; They all have to come out eventually
He keeps asking if he can call you Mummy
It’s heartbreaking in all the right places
I told you getting the blonde put into your hair was a bad idea
cody carson
The day you get something different from Starbucks is the day I let Pistol sleep in your bedroom
At least I’ve never lied when I told you I love you
Wait, someone tried to kidnap that little girl on your lap?
dacre montgomery
My worst nightmare is disappointing Steve Irwin
damien haas
Am I even on this show right now? Is this all just some freakishly realistic dream?

Would you have apologized if your daughter hadn’t made you?
Daddy doesn’t love me anymore
Since when are you afraid of getting rejected?
jamie follese
I can’t help when I disappear! The cake batter calls to me and I must answer her!
He asks if I love you all the time even though I always say yes
I think I could talk my way out of jail

Nothing’s ever scared me more than the thought of losing you
luke hemmings
If I’m feeling this bad about meeting his friends, I don’t know what I’m gonna do when he wants to tell the fans
We’re only here for a few days; You’re just going to have to deal with sharing a bed until we leave
We made a bet on which one of you would confess your feelings first
Even if it wasn’t what he wanted to hear, he still needed to
She closes the store alone tonight -- you didn’t hear it from me
How many strings did my husband have to pull for this?
She doesn’t even want him! She’s only with him because she knows I do!
You know I don’t like when you do this to yourself
I got my ass handed to me by an 11-year-old and her Pokemon master of an aunt
I have nightmares almost every night, but I only come in here when they’re about you
She’s a hostage in a bank robbery! Of course I care about her being in there!
You’re by yourself in the stables at 11pm with tears on your face. Don’t tell me nothing’s wrong
Don’t be mad just because your siblings love me more than they love you
You know that means nothing to me! Stop bragging about having colors!
Even I’m not heartless enough to leave you without a dance partner
marshall traver
Nobody is alone -- not even in this world
You’re only apologizing because I’m the Princess; You wouldn’t be if I were a nobody
maxx danziger
I told him you hate water; I told him and he decided to try and throw you in anyway
Too used to blowing me off on the phone, you forgot how to talk to me in person?
I think they deserve a teacher who wants to see them succeed
If she’s still wearing her ring, she’s clearly not ready to date other people
You’re staying even though my dad’s an idiot, right?
We’re gonna circle back to the fetish thing later because I don’t believe you don’t have one for a second
michael clifford
Wouldn’t want you to stay longer than you have to just because of me
If you never say ‘I love you’ back to me, that’s completely okay
You’ve been crying, kitten; I can tell
Is there any point when you’re not going to be useless to us?
You fired her because you’re in love with her?!
What can I say? His parents are raising him right
Don’t even think about touching my brother again
Hit me like you mean it
Last day of camp -- won’t be able to do this until next summer
I know you paid my rent
Nothing would piss off that asshole more than getting the girl he wants
Since when would he jump at the chance to defend me?
I know you’ve seen how different he is with me now
The first thing I heard when I woke up was ‘I wish that I could wake up with amnesia and forget about the stupid little things’ and I did
Unlike the girls you sleep with, I actually like being with a guy who can make me cum
It can’t possibly get worse than the hell you’re living right now
I love Michael... Oh my God... Ashton, I’m in love with Michael
Please bless us with this work of art
The only good thing about this tie is that it’s blocking some of the brightness from how pale you are
Why do you even have this song on cassette in the first place?!
She’s safe -- that’s all I’m allowed to say
How did two 11-year-olds manage to pull off the biggest switch ever?
You know they’re not going to let you marry me
I’m not a stranger to staying with people who treat me poorly
If I can handle you, I think I’m prepared for pretty much anything
You make Mumma forget about him and be happy and I like when Mumma’s happy
You said you weren’t going to let go of me
Can you write a song telling your soulmate to be less depressing? It’s really starting to worry me
I’m not stupid; I’ve seen your face -- I know I’m not getting out of this alive
I can either push past you or you can let me go, but I am going to go kiss my wife whether I have your permission or not
Not the worst injury I’ve ever had and definitely won’t be the last
This is not who I expected to be kissing when I put this dress on
ryan follese
Best of luck with your engagement to the Princess
I can’t put myself in a relationship I know won’t last
spencer reid
I didn’t marry a profiler, Spencer! I married you!
Any of us would have gone in to save your daughter -- it just happened to be me this time
tom holland
I know you love me, Tom -- I know you do... But it hurts that you don’t want other people to know it too...
trevor collins
I kinda wanted to wait and see if you were actually real before I said anything...
You may not be irreplaceable to the company, but you’re irreplaceable to me
I know you’re not sick; I know you just said it because you wanted to leave work early
zach dewall
I told you they were gonna be angry when they said it...

Not-So Perfect Night - Orange Cassidy
Request; May I request an Orange Cassidy smut where reader and him have been dating for a while and decide to try to take things to the next level in their relationship but hilarious mishaps ensue until Cassidy finally gets frustrated? Sorry for the bother.
Requested by @nerdywrestlingfan245
Summary; Y/N and Orange Cassidy have been dating for a few months now and both of them are ready to take it up a notch. Cassidy tries to plan the perfect evening, but somehow everything goes hilariously wrong.
After dating for four months, me and Cassidy had talked about taking our relationship to the next step. Cassidy insisted on planning the perfect date beforehand, he wanted to do it properly. It was a big moment and I found it sweet that he did this.
Tonight was that date night, I didn’t know much of what was happening. Brandi knew everything, and he’d only told her because I begged him so she could help me pick the right outfit.
She’d helped me pick out a figure-hugging red dress, with black shoes and accessories. My hair was down with loose curls and simple make up with a red lipstick to match the dress. Brandi had left and he was due to pick me up in a few minutes.
My phone rang, and the caller ID said it was him. Was he early and calling me from outside?
“Hey babe, are you here?” I asked, as I picked up the phone.
“Actually, I was calling to say I’m gonna be late. My car broke down.”
“Okay, I have an idea.” I said. “We’ll both get a cab and meet there, so we’re not late.”
“You don’t know where we’re going.”
“So order both of ours, I don’t mind.”
“Okay, okay.” He caved. “I’m on it. Love you, bye.”
“Love you too.”
I hung up, and he text me a couple of minutes later to say the cab was on the way. Since they didn’t tend to take too long, I grabbed my coat and purse, heading outside.
The cab showed up, and I got in. It took me to a restaurant that I’d never been to, though it did have a similar name to one we frequented. I paid the guy and got out, looking for Cassidy. When I didn’t see him, I text him to say I was outside the door.
He told me he was too, but we couldn’t see each other. It took a few minutes for us to realise I was outside the wrong restaurant. I laughed about it and took a cab over to him.
I finally saw him outside and smiled. after I once again paid the driver, I got out and gave Cassidy a kiss.
“Hi there.”
“Hi.” He smiled. “Shall we?”
I nodded and we headed inside. We couldn’t get a window seat like we usually got, but neither of us minded.
The evening started off well, but then I spilled wine all over myself. Cassidy stood up to help me clean up, but as he got up, knocked over a waitress and ended up with food all over him.
“Wow, we’re quite a pair.” I laughed. “I’ve got the wine, you’ve got the food. All we really need now is dessert.”
“I’m sure that’ll happen too.” He smirked. We both cleaned up the best we could, and carried on our meal. When dessert came, ice cream sundaes, we seemed to both have the same idea of getting some on the other, which resulted in the whole thing going over.
“Well, we should have seen that coming.” He laughed. “We were supposed to go dancing, but I don’t think we’d fit in right now.”
“Maybe, we just go and dance at home?”
“Aaah, but we’re not going home.” He smirked. Curious to see what he had planned, we cleaned up our mess as best we could and left the waitress a big tip for dealing with us.
We ended up in a hotel room for the night that he had booked, and luckily had the thought to bring clothes for us. Whilst there was things he clearly wanted me to wear for certain activities, he had put some normal pyjamas, actually my onesie, in, and I had an idea.
“Hey babe, put your pyjamas on. I got an idea.” I yelled.
“Okaaay.” He yelled back, seeming unsure. We both had Pokemon onesies, mine was Charmander and he was Pikachu.
Once we were dressed, we went to the roof, which we had permission for. ]”Let’s dance like this.” He smiled at the idea and grabbed my hand, but before we could start, it began to rain, making him groan.
“No, this is perfect. Let’s re-enact the rooftop dance from High School Musical 3.” I suggested. Yes, I had made him watch it multiple times. He rolled his eyes, but did it anyway.
Turns out, dancing in the rain in your slippers is not a great idea, as we both fell multiple times. About halfway through, we gave up and headed back to the room.
“So, how about we shower and I change into the other things you bought me?” I smirked.
“Shower together?”
“Obviously, c’mon,”
We entered the bathroom to see the shower was big enough for just one person, there was no way both of us would fit in there.
“Well, let’s shower after.” I suggested, as he let out a frustrated groan. I grabbed the stuff he had packed and got ready in the bathroom. Somehow, I managed to rip the underwear.
“Oh, god damnit.” I groaned.
“What’s wrong?”
“Well, I think I just saved you a job.” I said, showing him what had happened.
“It’s okay. It means I can get there quicker.” He smirked. “Now come here.” He picked me up and chucked me on the bed, resulting in me bashing my head on the headboard..
“Didn’t know we’d be breaking the headboard so soon.” I grinned, but he only seemed frustrated. I pulled him down towards me, attaching my lips to his.
This made him relax instantly, and he came to climb on the bed. Kicking the bedside table and knocking off the lamp, breaking it in the process.
“Not something else.” He groaned, getting up and picking up the pieces. “This was supposed to be the perfect night, dinner and dancing, the perfect build up. There was meant to be rose petals and champagne in here, but I forgot and then I didn’t have time. Everything that could have gone wrong tonight has.”
“Hey hey hey, it’s okay. Most of tonight's incidents have been funny, made me forget I was nervous.” I told him. “I don’t care about tonight. It was already perfect because you tried your best.” I smiled, kissing his cheek.
“Really?” He gave me a small smile.
“Really.”
I pulled him closer, kissing him again. He laid me back on the bed, hovering over me.
His shirt quickly came off, followed by the rest of our clothes, and flung across the room, making me sure something would be lost tomorrow.
His lips connected to mine for a second, before he trailed kisses down my body before he reached my thighs. He peppered kisses on my thighs, making me giggle.
“You ready, baby?”
I nodded quickly. He gave me a small grin, before his head disappeared between my legs. His tongue entered me, making me gasp slightly.
His tongue swirled inside me, hitting all the right spots, making me moan.
“Fuck baby.”
He removed himself from between my legs, kissing all the way up my body. “You sure about this?”
“I’ve never been so sure in my life.” I assured him, kissing him gently.
He kissed me back, before positioning himself. He slowly entered me, allowing me to get used to his size.
I let him know he could move by pushing my hips forward. He got the hint and started to move slowly.
“Faster baby.” I whispered.
He began picking up the pace, his head buried in my neck, peppering it with kisses The faster he went, the quicker that feeling inside me built, and I began to rake my fingers down his back.
“I’m so fucking close baby.”
“Cum for me, princess.”
His low voice, panting while he talked, sent me over the edge. An unidentifiable sound left my mouth as I let myself go. This only seemed to turn him on, his moves becoming quicker and sloppier so I knew he was close.
“I want you to cum inside me baby.” I whispered. This was the final straw, as he moaned into my neck and I felt his warm liquid inside me.
Once we were, he moved himself and placed himself on the bed next to me.
“Maybe we should shower now.” I laughed. “But tonight was perfectly imperfect.”

NAME. Rowan Smith AGE & BIRTH DATE. 25 & October 16th, 1995 GENDER & PRONOUNS. Female & She/Her SPECIES. Phoenix OCCUPATION. Barkeep FACE CLAIM. Imogen Poots
BIOGRAPHY
( tw: abduction, drugs, death ) Rowan started off her life normal and sweet, her father had never really been in the picture and her mother was on the younger side of things, having a baby at twenty one without much parental support from Rowan’s grandparents. Her mother’s boyfriend had bailed when the pregnancy was announced and it had been her mother and her against the world ever since. Since it was just the female force of the two of them, she rarely asked about her father’s identity, chalking his absence up to just another scared kid and not wanting to upset her mother’s already fragile state. Rowan’s birth was easy, just another Tuesday at New York City general hospital but her life had quickly been picking up its sorrow as she came screaming into the world, and time has taken a strange toll on their life. If questioned, Rowan would answer that she never thought of the shadow of a father that had been, that he simply never crossed her mind and she had better things to put her energy towards but she kept journals from whenever her mother would speak of him and was slowly piecing together the human that made up half of her DNA.
Rowan grew up quick, though she stayed impish in nature. It was natural for a beaming smile with a few loose teeth to adorn her mouth as a child and she collected bandaids on her kneecaps as often as she collected pokemon cards. Life was hard around their household, they always made the bills but barely. Her mother worked as a waitress and a bartender to keep the roof over their home, and the hardworking service atmosphere that her mother worked installed in her a funloving and fierce approach to life that she taught to her daughter, they only had so long in this world and they had to make the most out of all the time they had left. Like most children who have had to watch their parents struggle to make ends meet, Rowan had a certain maturity and wit that came early for her age. There was never a shortage of loud music and laughter in their home, Rowan completing her homework on diner tables as her mom worked hard. Rowan had the ability to make good friends, and she did have some deep friendship bonds with her peers but she was a bit of a lone wolf, trust came harder for her because she had a secret fear that those she loved would one day disappear.
Unfortunately, a terrible thing happened on the eve of Rowan’s nineteen birthday, one of Rowan’s biggest fears was that the people she loved would vanish, and the night before Rowan was meant to turn nineteen that’s exactly what happened to her mother. It was a tradition for her mother to bake cupcakes to celebrate Rowan’s birthday and normally they stayed up all night eating cupcakes and watching whatever movies Rowan choose that night, they celebrated her mother’s birthday in the same way. Only on October 15th as Rowan waited for the noise of familiar keys in the lock, the sunset beginning to turn the sky into beautiful orange and pink colors, a paralyzing fear overcame her ribcage causing a panic attack to be induced in the heart it carried and she knew — her mother wasn’t coming home. The house sounded so empty with just Rowan to fill it that it ached. When the tears had finally dried and her breath had resided to normal did she found the strength to pick herself up off the couch and leave their apartment, her birthday completely forgotten in her mind and filed a missing person report for her mother.
The world turned cold for Rowan for a while, alone in the world she had to figure out a way to make ends meet and to ensure the roof stayed above her head. She began to work as a dishwasher in the very diner that her mom had vanished from and applied for any odd jobs that came up. Her hard-working mother had made Rowan get a job at sixteen and luckily she had experience to fill out a resume with, the money she made from whatever jobs she was able to get were barely making ends meet again. One day a coworker who worked as the other dishwasher on days that she had off approached her, he knew of her bad luck and bad situation and offered for her to become a drug dealer just as he was. With very few options on her plate, Rowan agreed to work for them. It started off small, she had a list of loyal clients that simply had to dial her burner phones number and they were in contact with her as a delivery service for recreational marijuana. The extra money was something that she was grateful for but it still wasn’t enough to build a comfortable life so she began to deal harsher and heavier drugs, opening her catalog to acid, mdma and mushrooms. Months went by without any word from her mother and without any incident during the trades, drugs were becoming more mainstream and a small drug dealer was far from the worst problems that the concrete jungle known as New York City had.
The events that changed Rowan’s life seemed to coincide. Five minutes before a waitress was meant to start her serving shift, she called in sick leaving the diner scrambling for coverage and the other serving staff weren’t picking up their phones. Rowan told her boss not to worry, it was a slow enough day that she could cover serving and doing the dishes. Watching her mother serve as she grew up and practically having the diner be a second home for her, it was something she had the experience to pull off. It was a stressful day but one that passed without much disturbance, the only odd customer that really stood out in her mind was a man with yellow eyes that she served a slice of apple pie too. It was common for Rowan to make conversation with her costumers, chatting with them distracted her from the ever-present kitchen drama and if she was lucky provided her with better tips. She talked for a while with the man with yellow eyes, discussing dreams of travel and something better than where she was, he listened patiently and thanked her for her kind spirit. A compliment that warmed her heart and she was grateful for his respectful treatment of her as she served him.
When the shift was over, her dish-washing coworker approached her again. He was pissed because one of the drivers had flaked on his shift and Rowan couldn’t help the small simper, expected and used to the world in which people in her line of work commonly quit without notice. She agreed to take the job for him, although it was a higher job than she normally carried out. This time she was to carry cocaine and ketamine, still in the realm of party drugs and she figured the payout would be worth it. Her delivery was scheduled for an apartment in Brooklyn, not too far away from where she was living. After a couple of subway stops, she had arrived at her destination, the apartment door was located far into a dark alley and all she simply had to do was knock. She showed no fear for growing up in New York City, she was used to shady places and back alleyways. Rowan was however surprised by the stranger’s presence in the alleyway, one second he was there when there had been no trace of him just minutes prior. There was a dark desperate look in his eyes and when he pulled the handgun, there was not enough time for the prayers to leave Rowan’s lips before the sharp pain hit her ribs, a scream left her lungs in that instant as the dark blossoming blood began to stain her shirt where the bullet had entered. Gasping mewls were all that could be heard as Rowan collapsed to the pavement, panic and fear overriding her senses that she would bleed out and die on the streets of New York, accomplishing nothing and being nothing more than another statistic. The stranger stole the drugs that Rowan was carrying, oddly enough knowing that she carried them.
As her unblinking eyes stared up at the sky above her, believing it to be the last time she would ever see the sun, a man came into her vision. The man from the diner with the yellow eyes was the last thing Rowan saw as she lost consciousness. Hours later she awoke in a mysterious apartment and in the company of the yellow-eyed man, he introduced himself as the creator of phoenixes and explained to her that she was now one of his creations, a firebird like himself and something a little bit like hope ignited in Rowan. He explained that this city was not the place for her, and there was a town in which she was needed and that he needed the help of the phoenixes to determine the identity of his sister’s killer and with his words, Rowan booked a one-way ticket to Corinth Bay.

This is random but Piers and Marnie HC’s with Raihan?? I feel like Raihan would try get close to Piers just because he sees his distant, and when he finds out Marnie is his sister he would look out for her too.
Oh, Raihan! I’m surprised I haven’t talk about him as much. I really do like him. I should write more about him. Also, random asks are totally welcome!
So what happened in my mind is that Raihan faced Piers in the finals during their own Gym Challenges. Piers got sent home and he didn’t bother to stay for the rest of the finals, so Raihan didn’t get to talk to him like he wanted to. He was super impressed that Piers had him cornered without even dynamaxing!
Well, a couple years pass, about three, since they’re 12 during their gym challenge, and Piers is 15 when they next meet. Raihan goes on to become the new Gym Leader for Hammerlocke. Piers goes home to his abusive/neglectful parents. They have a baby (Marnie) and two years after that they leave and don’t come back. Piers has picked up several jobs in order to take care of Marnie. A couple months after his parents disappear, Piers has to go to Hammerlocke for baby stuff cause he forgot to get it before the shop in Spikemuth closes, and he brings 2 year old Marn with him. He’s struggling to carry a fussy baby and a stack of diapers and related products at the same time. Raihan runs into him and helps Piers carry it home. Well “home,” because what Piers and Marnie are living in at the time is practically a dilapidated motel room that some scumbag is renting to them for way too much money. But they take what they can get.
Raihan sees that there’s not much in terms of food (most of it is baby food) in the fridge and the only real furniture is baby furniture, real cheap stuff, too. The living area’s got upside down crates to sit on and the kitchen is full of bits and pieces of several kitchen sets. The bedroom has a crib, and that’s the only furniture. Piers’ bed is a large pool float and their clothes are just piled up in the corner of the room. Everything else is just kind of scattered around in an organized mess. Raihan hates seeing Piers like this.
Piers has pretty much given up on pokemon training. His Obstagoon is only a Linoone and he doesn’t see it changing anytime soon. He feels like a failure and just wants to disappear. The only thing keeping him from leaving to a new region and starting over is Marnie. Raihan believes that it’s an incredible waste for Piers to give up on training. He was so talented. And somebody needed to replace the shithead electric type gym leader in Spikemuth (not yet sure what he did, but during those finals, he did something awful that made EVERYONE mad). Over the years, Raihan helps Piers out in any way he can, lending him cash, letting him and Marnie stay with him for a short period of time, encouraging Piers to pick up training again, etc. At age 18, Piers becomes the new Gym Leader in Spikemuth, and him and Marnie are better off than they’ve ever been, even with their parents. Raihan is a family friend of Piers and Marnie’s. He’s very close to them and even introduced Leon to Piers.
Raihan considers Piers as close as brothers, but it’s not certain whether Piers reciprocates that notion. He tolerates Raihan with a sarcastic and standoffish manner. Raihan knows that he’s just insecure and shy, and under that aggression is a caring and compassionate soul who cares very deeply for his sister and the people around him. Most people think Raihan is crazy when he tries to explain that to them.
Thanks for the ask. I have a short fic in the final stages of polishing about this actually. I’m hoping that I can get that out soon. I’m also thinking about posting the minific about the boys at Karaoke on AO3. Let me know if that’s a good idea.

Jealous
Gallade x reader
Your POV
I was normally really secure in my relationships with people. May is my best friend. Drew is my grasshead bratty cousin. Ash is my friend and so are the rest of the gang. And Gallade is my loving boyfriend of 5 months and my former pokemon of 10 years. I found Gallade when he was a little Ralts, all alone in the woods. I have reason to believe he knew Max's Ralts but never found out for sure. I took him with me and we have been together ever since. About 2 years ago, the Pokehuman epidemic struck and Gallade was one of the victims. At first, I was upset. Gallade was my strongest pokemon. He still could use moves, but most people didn't allow pokehumans to fight in battles. It progressed from there and now he's my boyfriend. Enough of that.
I have been starting to doubt my relationship with him. Sure, we've been together for over 12 years, but most of those were when he was a pokemon. I have no idea how he feels about me as his own self, a human. The only sort of love I have him up until recently was the owner type of love. It is not bad to be in a relationship with a former pokemon, it just isn't common. And of course with that, comes all of the above. When we go out in public, people immediately see his green hair. Looks of unease are sent my way, even some looks of hatred and disgust. But I decided to look past that and move on with my day.
Today I came up with the great idea to head over to the waterpark and have a relaxation day, just my friends, pokemon, boyfriend and I. I had already told Gallade my plan as well as my friends. Some of my friends were busy, but the ones that agreed to come were May, Max, Ash, Brock, Drew, Solidad, and Harley, believe it or not. Yes, I managed to befriend the eccentric grape headed (MINORU MINETA!!!) man. Nowadays, May, Solidad, Drew, and Harley get along, if I'm there.
Grabbing my beach tote, I called for Gallade. He came down and we went out the door, making sure to lock it. Gallade walked over to the car and opened the door for me, like a true gentleman. I giggled and got into the driver's seat, him into the passengers seat. I started the car and we headed to the beach. All the way to the beach, insecurities filled my head, all about my relationship.
Pushing that away, I realized that we had arrived. I parked in a parking space and grabbed the bag. Gallade once again opened the door and I got out. I locked the car and we headed onto the sand.
It wasn't hard to spot my group. I mean honestly, green hair, purple hair with a cacturne outfit, pink hair, yeah, they really stood out. Running up to them, I carelessly dropped my bag before tacking Drew in a hug. We fell to the ground, covered in sand, but I couldn't care less. I was laughing hysterically, while Drew didn't share the same amusement. When he realized who it was, he shook his head, letting out a small chuckle. I got off of him and helped him up. I then went around and hugged everyone there, saying greetings and such. Solidad helped me set up my area to sit on.
I decided I wanted to play in the water, we could catch up with each other later. "Guys! Let out your pokemon, we're going in the water!" I yelled.
May, Max, Ash and I all cheered. May and I were quick to take off our coverups. Harley complained about getting his hair wet, to which I sighed. I gave puppy eyes to the rest and they eventually gave in. By this time, Gallade had arrived and just agreed to my idea straight away. I swore I could hear someone say 'whipped' under their breath but I wasn't sure.
Forgetting about that, I quickly released my pokemon, the others doing the same. Out came my team of lovely friends. I had a bit of an attraction towards 'scary' things, thus represented by my loyal team. Honestly, this didn't go how I wanted it to. Giratina was the first one to come out, and he frightened everybody. Everyone at the beach froze in the moment. To convince them he was fine and a calm boi, I called him down to my level. He spotted me immediately and nuzzled me gently, careful not to hurt me. This somewhat calmed people's nerves and they cautiously went back to what they were doing. Sweatdropping at this, the rest of my team decided to make an appearance. Out popped my Banette, Drifblim, Skuntank, Blaziken, and Golisopod. To my disappointment, people looked disgusted by my Golisopod. Knowing how sensitive the big baby was, I gave him a hug before glaring at the other beach goers.
"Alright guys, it's beach time. Go have fun but be sure to stay where I can see you and call you back if needed. Golisopod, you need to go have fun but be mindful of other people, I don't want you hurting anyone. That especially goes for you Giratina. People don't feel safe around you, they don't know you like I do. Just be wary and don't step on anyone. Oh! And no sending people to the distortion world if they make you upset, I don't want a repeat of junior year of high school." I commanded. After recieving nods, I looked towards my friends doing the same thing. All of our pokemon dispersed, each doing different things.
"Race you to the water, losers!" I shouted, running fast towards the waves. May gave a shout before chasing after me. After that, everybody else ran towards the water as well.
Then began the water fun. I decided to mess with my baby cousin a bit more. I snuck up behind him before tackling him once again, both of us disappearing underneath the foamy water. after a few seconds, we both emerged to the surface. Drew glared at me while I laughed. He look at May for comfort, wanting his girlfriend to back me up, only to find her laughing as well. This set him off and he directed his assault to her, splashing her with a huge amount of water. Wanting to join in, I started a water fight.
Timeskip to relaxing on the sand
The day was going great, until I saw her. I noticed her looking at my group with something unknown in her eyes. I immediately recognized who she was. She was a Gardevoir turned human. Suddenly, I was hit with doubt and anxiety. Once could say I was beginning to go a little jealous. Her green hair looked so pretty compared to my boring (H/C) hair. I noticed how well it would go along with Gallade's hair, they would be like a matching couple.
I noticed how tall and slim she was, the perfect height to match Gallade. I saw how beautiful she looked in her white bikini, looking down at my own bikini.
'I can't compete with her.' I thought, 'Why does everybody have to be better than me!'
Gallade seemed to sense my internal struggle, reaching over and grabbing my hand.
"Love, you seem tense. How about you and I go grab some ice cream over there." He suggested. I smiled at his proposal, before realizing where the ice cream vender was...right next to the Gardevoir, and I'm assuming her trainer. Not wanting to draw attention, I nodded and got up, walking towards the vender. Looking at the Gardevoir, I noticed her trainer. Not to be rude, but he looked like a sleeze. I pushed the thought aside.
We arrived at the ice cream vender and started to make our order. I ordered an Oran berry ice cream while Gallade got the Cheri berry ice cream. I waited for the man to serve us the ice cream, warily glancing at the Gardevoir and her trainer. After what seemed like an eternity, our ice cream was handed to us. I thanked the man and was about to walk off when my arm was grabbed.
I jolted back, my ice cream nearly falling. Caught off guard, Gallade and I turned around, only for my suspicions to be confirmed. Holding on to my arm was the sleezy trainer. The Gardevoir, like expected, had a glint of lust in her eyes. Trying to rip my arm out of the trainer's grip, I was pulled forward and into his arms. I looked forward and saw Gallade step up. Just as he was about to pull me away, the Gardevoir latched onto him.
I saw fire as she was rubbing herself up against him. I growled, face growing red. Having enough of this, I rammed my elbow into the trainer's stomach. He groaned and let me go, allowing me to rip the Gardevoir off of my boyfriend. Yanking her towards me, I slapped her in the face. What I didn't expect was he actually fighting back. Just as quickly as I had slapped her, she punched me in the stomach. Now, that hurt, but I have been taking boxing since I was little so it was nothing to me. Her punch only infuriated me further.
I grinned a sinister grin before tackling her onto the sand. Her trainer kicked me in the face, shoving me away as he helped the little bitch up. Then they ran at me, throwing punches left and right. Noticing Gallade right next to me, I shoved him away, wanting to protect him. All he could do was watch, as I kept pushing him away from the fight. He knew I could handle myself, so he let this play out. By this point, the whole beach was watching the fight.
This fight was getting boring, and I didn't feel like getting more injured, so I decided to pull out my ace. Bringing my fingers up to my lips, I managed to let out a sharp whistle before being kicked in the stomach and punched in the face. All I did was smile at them, eyes deadly and teeth gleaming sharp.
"What the fuck are you smiling about, bitch?" the trainer yelled, the Gardevoir smirking.
Their confidence didn't last for long as they realized what I had done. Racing towards us was my Giratina, shaking the beach as he ran. Behind him were all of my other pokemon. Giratina reached us and I smirked at the two of their faces. Giratina bent down, allowing Gallade and I to get onto his back. He turned towards the two as I announced my command.
"Gira, those two I will allow you to send to the distortion world." My smile baleful. A roar was heard before they were sucked into a dark portal, never to be seen again. Smiling shyly at the ice cream man, I asked for our ice creams. He shakily gave them to us and fled.
I started laughing uncontrollably as we rode Giratina back to the others. I slid off of the distortion pokemon's back, only to be tackled by my friends. They were spouting words a mile a minute. Throughout all the chaos, Gallade held my hand.
I'm sure he's in love with me. After all, he just witnessed me banish someone to the distortion world.

RoBalt?
A commissioned fic for @sparkyyoungupstart, with characters from the podcast Pokemon World Tour: United
Cobalt wasn’t known to be the smartest person in his traveling group of friends, with him usually paying attention to his Pokemon or a certain blue haired girl rather than what was going on around him. He had his strengths, but being perceptive had never really been one of them, which had never bothered him. Until just recently, when he was having trouble putting two and two together.
At first, it was just a guessing game. He and Rose had been traveling together for quite some time, and had been through a lot of situations together, from tracking down rockets, to going to court, and even saving the Legendary birds. They’d shared many memories with one another, and they’d grown a strong bond. Cobalt and Rose were known as good friends, and since the day they set foot on their Pokemon journey, people had been mistaking them for a couple. In the beginning, the two very adamantly denied this assumption, because no, they weren’t a couple. They were just Rose and Cobalt, and that’s all that they needed to be.
But the more time they spent together, huddling for warmth during the Pokemon induced winter, having a beach vacation, and putting criminals in jail, things started to change. Or, Cobalt thought they had. Rose, even under stressful situations, seemed to smile at him more freely, with all the joy on her face of someone who was just so content with their life. She would still call him an idiot every now and again, though it seemed to carry the weight of affection rather than exasperation. And sometimes, the girl seemed to sit closer to him than necessary, brushing up against his side but making sure not to look at him.
Cobalt wanted to ask her if everything was alright, if she was looking for comfort because of something that had happened, but he found himself very reluctant to break the deeper connection they seemed to have made. So instead, he found a reason to be just as close to her.
It hit him like a ton of bricks when he’d happened to have mumbled out some stupid joke, admittedly not one of his best, and Rose had just looked at him and burst into laughter. In the midday sun, her eyes sparkled so brightly and conveyed emotions to him that words just couldn’t say. He gulped and wanted to thunk his head against a tree. He liked Rose more than a friend should.
As soon as he confirmed the thought, there was no going back from that. Every thought seemed to revolve around her, and dang it, it would have been easier to just stop thinking about it if she wasn’t always with him. But every time he wanted to mention the fact of his changing feelings of her, he stopped dead in his tracks.
Did she like him? Would she even want to be more than just friends with him? Man, what if this was just her getting more comfortable around him as a friend, and it wasn’t even romantic.
But finally, after what seemed like weeks of him worrying over this as if it was the end of the world, it finally clicked in his mind. The way that she stuck close to him, the way that she would do something before immediately looking back at him to see his reaction. The way Rose seemed to always have room at her side for him. She wanted this just as much as he did, she was just waiting for him to make the first move. Cobalt had finally gotten the confidence to ask her on a date, had been mere moments away from asking her the simple question, when he’d had the thought.
“A conflict of interest? Cobalt, are you an idiot?”
Cobalt frowned and stared at Cira, who sat across from him at the cafe table. It didn’t sound as nice coming from this girl over the other. Somewhat dramatically, he sighed and sipped at his juice. It would be hard for a criminal to understand the complications between the two.
“Rose comes from a long line of Officers. Actually, I’m pretty sure her direct line was one of the first, or something like that. And I’m one of the few non-Jenny’s to be in the police force-”
“You’re not a cop!”
“I went through the training program and helped Rose take in all those Rockets a while ago. We’ve done more labor than the entire Kanto region in the past couple months. I think it’s safe to say we’re both cops.”
It was Cira’s turn to huff out an annoyed breath. She was starting to regret the fact that she’d popped up to hang out with her… friends. Knowing how head-strong the blonde was, she just leaned back in her chair and gave him a wave of her hand for him to continue his ridiculous explanation.
“Our work is important to us, but she’s important to me too. And I know that if I had to choose between work and her… it would always be Rose.”
Okay, even though Cobalt was acting like a moron, that was really cute. Cira went to say something, but the girl in question had finally come out of the coffee shop and was slowly sauntering over to them. Without a second thought, she sat right next to Cobalt and gave them both a smile.
“Sorry it took so long, but you can’t rush perfection,” Rose sighed, closing her eyes as she took her first sip of the very sugary “coffee” she’d ordered.
“Can you even call that much sugar a drink?”
“I can’t hear you over this little cloud called heaven.”
Cobalt snickered into his juice, ready to just forget the conversation that he’d just had with Cira. But the orange haired girl had other plans.
“So Rose, what do you think about dating in the workplace?”
Cobalt was barely able to keep himself from choking on the juice that had gone down his throat. When he’d finally got his breath back, he was glaring at Cira, who only had eyes for Rose. Rose cocked her blue brow, not understanding why the question had been posed.
“Um, I don’t know. I’m not against it, I guess? As long as the work gets done?”
“But sometimes you have to weigh your options, you know? Work is important, your relationship is important, can you even balance the two without sacrificing something or breaking the rules? Is it even worth it?”
“Cira, that’s some pretty heavy stuff you’re laying down,” Cobalt snapped, close to growling, “Not really a good conversation for lunch time.”
“We’re friends aren’t we? Friends can talk about serious things every now and again, especially when it concerns someone close to them.”
Cobalt was going to battle her. Right here, right now, that would probably shut her up, right? He was ready to stand up and do just that when Rose finally said something.
“Balancing everything in your life can be difficult sometimes. Trust me, I know from personal experience. Sometimes it can get overwhelming and you think that that’s it, there’s nothing else you can do. You think you have to pick the road that seems the easiest to travel.”
Both Cira and Cobalt turned to look at their friend, instantly forgetting their own emotions to let Rose vent hers, listening to her wisdom. She seemed so serious, but then she gave Cira a small, but strong smile.
“But that’s the way that life works sometimes. It pushes at you to see if this is really what you want. And sometimes it’s not, but I like to think if you’re asking this question, you already know the answer. When push comes to shove, you have to make your own path, even if it doesn’t look possible for the happily ever after you want. And in the end, you know that you’d drop everything for Bonnie.”
“Wait, what?” Cira shook her head, shaken out of Rose’s deep answer after the twisted ending.
“You guys have grown so much together, have helped each other grow and become somewhat good members of society. You lean on one another, rely on each other, and you know you’d do anything for one another. ‘Work’ may want something more from you, but maybe it’s time you either create your own future or work towards that compromise.”
“This isn’t about-”
“That’s so sweet,” Cobalt said, mockingly, liking how the tables had turned, “Bonnie means a lot to you, huh? I’m glad you can trust us enough to tell us about your vulnerable heart. I knew you were never as mean spirited as you tried to be.”
Cira flushed a deep red, not liking the way everything had turned on her, but was so embarrassed about how Rose had clamped on some of her own relationship insecurities. It took her a solid minute or two, with a concerned look from Rose and a smug one from Cobalt, before she was able to really say anything.
“Shut up.” And just like she always appeared and disappeared, Cira got up without a word and started walking away, throwing her hood over her head to help hide her deep blush.
“Did I say something wrong?”
Chuckling, Cobalt threw his arm around Rose’s shoulder and pulled her closer in for a side hug. “No, I just don’t think she was expecting that kind of answer. Me neither.”
“It’s just how I feel,” Rose said with passion, slow to pull away from the hug, but did so to take some of her drink.
Cobalt watched her for a bit, actually contemplating the things she had said, even if it hadn’t been aimed at him. It was still good advice, and Cira had kind of accomplished her goal, in some way. Cobalt knew what he needed to do.
“Rose, how would you feel about a date tonight? At that one restaurant you pointed out earlier?”
Quickly whipping her head towards the boy, giving him a good slap with her hair, Rose’s eyes widened when she realized that he was actually serious about it. However, the shock didn’t last too long, giving way to a kind of shy smile.
“So that conversation was actually supposed to be about you and me?”
“Yeah, but I listened to some of that sage advice and decided rules be damned. So, what do you say?”
“Of course I’ll- wait. What does a date have to do with dating in the workplace?”
Cobalt pulled out his “badge”, his face a bit somber as the little bit of guilt washed over him, for only for a few seconds. This was the right choice.
“I think the police force will look the other way with when it comes to the two of us.”
The confusion was visible on Rose’s face as she tried to put the pieces together, and then Cobalt saw the annoyance on her face just before she yelled at him.
“How many times do I have to tell you that we’re not cops?!”
